I am a big fan. Andrews was one of the rare RBs that seemed to be able to do anything you asked. I'll always remember him not only for his play but because I was young when he got hurt and it was the first time I ever experience one of my sports idols having a career end due to injury. I can still distinctly remember my confusion when trying to come to grips with the fact that he looked great one play and then the next his career was basically over. Oh what could have been.

Glad you guys enjoyed it. His injury was so bad that every ligament was shredded as well as nerve damage. Remember reading that he'd have issues falling when he walked because his big toe would go numb.

Andrews is only 5th in rushing yards, but he's 1st in yards-per-attempt, 1st in yards from scrimmage, and 2nd in TDs.

Not bad for a guy teams knew they had to stop and he accounted for 39 percent of his offense in one of those years.

This is a great post.
As a Saints fan I hated this guy; he was absolutely terrific and earned nothing but respect from a number of levels. Belongs in a category with Wilbert Montgomery I think.
