Rebecca Black's Friday. A voice of the new generation (1 Viewer)

My office streams some internet radio station all day. I kid you not, we were subjected to it 10 times yesterday, sprinkled throughout the usual top 40 dreck. I wanted to jump out the window -- and most of my coworkers had no idea what it was.

I don't get why everyone thinks the song is bad. Nice catchy tune better then 90% of the bubblegum pop of the last 30 years.
The song is what it is--not exactly my cup of tea, but I just feel bad for this poor teenager who tried to do something and is getting absolutely torn apart. Maybe because I have two young daughters, I feel bad for her.Granted she may be laughing all the way to the bank on this, but it has to be pretty painful to hear all the negatives--especially at that age.

Also the lyrics aren't any worse then most tween pop. If anyone breaks down Tiffany/Debbie Gibson lyrics they would be just as ridiculous. The music is targeted towards young girls and the simplistic lyrics and catchy tune are perfect for that. The more I think about it the more brilliant the lyrics and catch phrases are based on the market the song targets.

I just feel bad for this poor teenager who tried to do something had mommy and daddy buy her this and is getting absolutely torn apart.
Fixed. Let's get real here.
So every other young act that has made it, financed their way via a paper route or shoveling snow??The mom paid $4,000 for this. Not exactly a lot of money. For example, if you have a son/daughter who plays sports you can dump some pretty large amounts of money between equiptment and camps, etc. My 11 year old is in ballet. I have probably spent close to a grand on just class and shoes this year alone. This girl wants to sing (whether she can or not is  ) and mom paid for a song for her. She is getting quite a return for that $$$ right now that's for sure.

There's probably tens of thousands of Rebecca Blacks in this country that wishes their parents could afford $4k to.get a music video made for them. Sadly, they just have to resort to dominating school choir and talent shows. Success comes in different ways to different people. People like Black had it bought for them while others had to earn it. Then again, I grew up in a broken family where $4,000 was a lot of money to both my mom and dad. Different strokes I guess.

Partyin’, partyin’, yeah! Partyin’, partyin’, yeah!

I officially can't get this stupid song out of my head.

Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!

:goodposting: Jesus saw the "rap"(?) at about 2:35 mark and volunteered to be crucified again.

ETA (from Comments):

If there is a god, why would he let this happen?

The song is complete crap, but no worse than 90% of the crap my daughter listens to.

What is most annoying about the songs is, honestly, her voice. Yeah, the lyrics are kind of inane, but like I said, I've hear just as bad all the time while in the car with my daughter. Songs where it seems like they can't figure out another word, so they just repeat the same word over and over again. That's what this is, except her voice is totally annoying. Auto Tune gone bad.

:lmao: :lmao: Two more:

Can't help but notice that she doesn't put anything in any of the collection plates.

Christians shouldn't be allowed to do anything. Ever.

At least she has a sense of humor about it

Rebecca Black breaks down the lyrics
OK this is pretty good. Maybe this isn't the last we've seen of Ms. Black.
She's actually does pretty well with Betwixt the Music as well. Some overacting, but some well delivered lines in there too. "One time, Jay Leno offered me a Werthers Original. I ate it. It was good." :lmao:
You know, after watching that, I think people should leave her alone. Yeah, the song is crap, but at least she doesn't think she just released Strawberry Fields Forever. She doesn't take herself too seriously, which is more than I can say for 95% of the other crappy pop stars these days.

Been working the Rebecca Black soundboard at work this morning. I had one request to play the whole song instead of just snippets. :lmao:
