I am hoping to get some insight ion the Redskins RB situation. Can Ryan Torain be a bell cow back? Where does Keiland Williams fit in? Does Portis have any gas left in the tank?
Torain is certainly someone they'd like to be a feature back but the guy can't stay healthy. Williams is more of a 3rd down back as he has good hands and is a much better blocker than Torain. CP is likely done in DC.I have to think they will take a look at a lesser known back in FA or in the draft but as of now it's Torain's job to lose.
I'm not a Redskins follower but you can ask many similar questions at QB and WR too. I can't think of a team taht might be more in line for a complete overhaul. What happens at QB assuming McNabb is not brought back? Grossman could be a short term filler but what do they do long term at QB? Portis really hasn't been good for a couple of years. Torain impressed me but seems to deal with a lot of injuries. I like Santana Moss and Cooley but that other WR spot seems to be wide open too.
I think the right thing to do would be to shed the hefty contracts of McNabb and Portis and retool.

I hate the Redskins but get enough DC area talk radio to at least report what fans/local media/players are saying. Torain looks like the guy, Portis is something like 700 yards away from being the Skins' all time leading rusher, and the general atmosphere is that Riggins' record is safe as Portis won't be back with the team. I expect the Skins will bring in some FA to compete with Torain, but as stated above, it is his job to lose.McNabb will not be back. The Skins were wise in leaving themselves an option to dump him after paying him only $3M under his new contract, and all indications are that they will do so. The WR position is a mess. Shanahan seems to like Moss and Anthony Armstrong, but there is NO kind of depth beyond these guys (and Armstrong is probably a #3/4 on most teams, Moss is arguably a #1 but probably better suited as a #2 on most teams). The Skins have the #10 pick in the draft, and Skins fans/talk radio expects them to use it on Locker/Newton, or AJ Green/Baldwin. I think Shanahan will probably draft one of the QBs, or go OL, which was a mess this year. At WR, there is a ton of momentum for them to go after Fitzgerald or Vincent Jackson. I actually think they won't do either of these, as the new management seems intent on making a concerted effort to not have the business as usual sign/trade for the biggest free agent on the market. Next year will likely be another disaster for the Skins.
Ryan Torain-Starter until the wind changes directionClinton Portis - Gone unless he restructures his contract, this could happenKieland Williams - Feel he's strictly 3rd down/cop backjames Davis - Shanny grabbed him up pretty fastShawnbrey McNeil - Practice squad, he's pretty young and has good potential

From the response thus far the sentiment seems to be that KeiWill is not much more than a third down back. He is listed as 5-11 and 230, so he has some decent size. He also had a respectable ypc and a good number of catches. Having not watched him, who would you compare him to?
