*REDSKINS/JETS game thread* (7pm EST on NFLN) (1 Viewer)

trying to decide between seeing the Redskins pulverize the Favrelicious Jets or watching the Olympics. :blackdot:

i'm going to be channel-flipping. my wife won't let me have 2 tv's in the room.

NFL.com Game Center somehow doesn't have Favre's name in there as the QB. They seem to have missed that one. :lmao:

Oops, nevermind. They fixed it.

Favre looking good on the Jets first drive. Stalls following a sack; unclear exactly who was to blame for that one, but I think Leon Washington.

A blitz in preseason was to blame. Regardless, Marcus Washington should beat Leon Washington on a blitz 7 times out of 10. He's a good rushing LB.

I don't know what scheme the Jets were running before Favre, but this looks a lot like a WCO to me - lots of short hitches by the TE's, and crossing routes by the WR's.

I think the Jets are gonna like this new Fav-reh guy. :lmao:
As well they should. They got a better deal for him than the Packers did when he was a third-string QB for the Falcons. He looked damn sharp. Two nice completions to Cotchery and he loves finding his TE for short TD passes. Keller could be a very nice sleeper pick as a No. 2 TE in larger leagues.

Not to sidetrack the Favre news (the pass game IS looking good) - just curious why Washington is getting the majority of the early snaps. I thought Jones may just be sitting, but he was in on a least two plays and that sparked my interest.

I'm surprised that Washington got the bulk of the carries in the Jets first two drives.... What happened to T. Jones? In addition, is Coles playing?

Get used to this, too. Leon showed up to camp in great shape, and with a great attitude. I'm a little higher on him than most (homer and all), but I don't think it would be a stretch for him to outscore T Jones. Coles is out - hurt leg.

Lots of 3-4 WR sets. Clowney was #2 on one redzone play. Kellen didn't line up in the slot. Coles not in there, but something to keep an eye on especially with his big game last week. Wallace Wright has made a few spectacular special teams plays which should help him make the team. I'm personally high on Stuckey myself...

Cotchery is going to be Brett's favorite receiver.

Jets Oline looks great. Faneca flattened someone on that first TD.

Harris is an absolute beast. he was all over the place, great read on the one run and was in there immediately, great coverage in the flat.

Overall, looks good for Jets fans so far but we'll see :D

not good for Betts, let's hope that he's ok
That looked like the classic case of him planting hard to change direction, and the turf not letting his lower leg move with his upper leg. I didn't like it even as he went down. It's somewhat encouraging that he walked off without a limp, but I still feel like that's at least a sprain. :D

Missed about first half of the game but anyway -

On this drive Campbell looks like crap and Betts looking great. Any non-I-want-to-have-Favre's-babies commentary on player performances so far? Has Cotchery really looked that good?

Favre has looked sharp, but they've obviously kept the game plan and routes simple for him, and it goes without saying that the defense is vanilla for the most part.
