please let us know if any news on Betts ...
Posted at 8:29 PM ET, 08/16/2008Halftime Report

The first half was less than the kind of showcase for sharp, effective play that you'd expect to see at this point, at least from the offense. Defense played pretty well.

Here's a quick update:

Campbell 4 of 10 for 28 yards; Collins 7 of 11 for 45; Devine one pass, intercepted.

Betts, who suffered a mild knee strain, rushed six times for 34 yards. Cartwright had six carries for 90 (longest of 73) and caught three passes for 10 yards.

Sellers caught two passes for 15 yards, Moss one for 13 and Yoder 1 for 12.

Redskins converted one of six third downs; had nine first downs, 199 total yards, 126 rushing yards, 73 passing yards.

Jets converted one of seven third downs; had seven first downs; 110 total yards; 28 rushing yards and 82 passing yards. Favre, 5 of 6 for 48 and a TD.

Penalties

Redskins 3 for 30

Jets 3 for 22

Time of possession

Redskins 15:25

Jets 14:35

I'll feel more comfortable after they have an opportunity to do an MRI and it either comes up negative, or they decline to even bother. I just didn't like the way that that looked.

MRI couldn't happen until tomorrow. "Knee strain" is something I could have told you watching TV. Maybe that's all it is, but it just can't be taken as definitive as of yet.

Well Zorn got what he wanted in Colt having a chance to drive for the win. Pretty sloppy game by both teams. Like I said earlier Fox looked terrible. And was the one beaten on the catch that luckily didn't happen.

It's pretty clear to me after watching 2 series...

Brett Favre will be a Top 10 QB in 2008.
;) I wish I was in your fantasy league. His Td pass beat Kareem Moore, a rookie Safety. Your playing against a vanilla def. Please stop drinking the kool aid buddy, its preseason.
um, on the play I saw... the ROOKIE TIGHT END, beat the rookie safety. Keep drafting those QBs early, while I load up and take #4 late and if you want to play in my league... go here... www.theffpc.com or here... www.wcoff.com or here... www.fantasyfootballchampionship.com
So were you play makes you the most informed peron on this board?
um, the guy said he wished he was in my league. I just told him where to find me, cool? Most of the guys that KNOW ME, know that my posting after Favre threw 5 passes was a joke. I can't help it if this riles up the kids on here.

So Did Devin Thomas play? how did he look if so? Rooting for him to do well...
He returned a couple of kicks, and had one target that I remember, a deep right sideline fade pass from Collins that was well covered and that he had to "defend" from being intercepted. Pretty quiet night for him, all in all, but he had a great week of practice and he's back out there, so we'll see.

Didn't check the rest of the thread so I don't know if anyone mentioned this during the game (I have several times on the board this off season): Tony Richardson makes a huge difference. I saw it several times last night, with the most pronounced being on an early 4th and inches he stuffed a linebacker. Everyone keeps talking about the additions to the O line, for good reason, but TR will - in my opinion - provide the biggest lift to the NYJ running game.
