Reggie Brown doubtful. (2 Viewers)

If you watched the Eagles all preseason, you saw that by weeks 2 and 3 McNabb was looking for Djax (do we give him Djax now that Darrell Jackson is finished? Djax 2? Djax .5?) on nearly every play. I think he' a startable WR3 in PPR. With Curtis out several weeks even if Brown returns, Jackson should have plenty of opportunities to grab hold of a spot in the lineup.

I'm trying to temper my expectations. I picked him up late in a couple of leagues and the first reaction when you see the news is to start your shiny new guy at WR3. McNabb seems to have a decent track record for quickly bonding with new receivers.

Still, I think I'll give it at least a week to see if he has got the goods or looks another James Thrash.

I'm intrigued by this. I had Brown penciled in but think Baskett may be a decent option here if he can't go. Baskett is a decent redzone target.

Of course Thrash was a perfectly startable WR3 type for a couple of years, so that wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

It is difficult to think about starting a rookie wr in week 1. Outside of Anquan Boldin's performance as a rook, I can't think of too many solid opening day production coming from a rookie wr.

I had chance to draft DJ, but no. I had to go with vet with injury problem. Oh well, I hit the WW and picked up Walter. I hope he is good for 70 and TD

That Randy Moss fellow had a nice debut.
How did Santana Moss, Steve Smith, Ted Ginn, and Peter Warrick do in their debut's?
I'm not debating the value of a rookie WR. Isotopes said outside of Anquan's debut...I was simply adding another stellar debut. Doesn't happen very often. I should think that Mr. Jackson has as good a chance as any, however, considering the circumstances.

Exactly. It's not often a rookie makes an impact debut (though I believe Steve Smith actually scored a touchdown on his first NFL catch - might have been a punt return) but it's also not often a team loses both its starting receivers for opening day, leaving a rookie that was the sensation of the preseason in the lineup with little competition from the other WR on the roster. Jackson is well-positioned to strike here.
