Thing is, the offense is more balanced and appears to have more rhythm without Bush in the lineup. Stecker's playing the "Deuce" role effectively, and running between the tackles. Brees is going downfield more to Colston, instead of throwing those 5-yard checkdowns to Bush when it's 3rd and nine.
Sean Payton seems to want to force the offense through Reggie, instead of using Bush as a specialty player. Payton also did a very poor job of getting Colston involved early on.
Honestly, I just don't see Bush as a 25-carry/game RB anymore than I see Eli Manning as a "franchise" QB.
the saints are playing great without him. maybe this will make them realize that force feeding the ball to a bust that averages 3 1/2 yards a carry, and 5 yards per reception, is actually bad for the team. what a concept.

Bush coming back this week is good for no one. As a Stecker/Bush owner I hope this is just a ruse, but I'm afraid that there's a kernel of truth to it.
Payton says he is optimistic that Bush will play with this weekend. However, he said he'll know once Reggie actually practices for the first time on Wednesday. There is a lot more to this than what the OP is saying...
