Reggie Bush (1 Viewer)

Reggie Bush no longer carries the hefty price tag he once had and is still young, do you dump now or strike while his value is still low?

Positive:

Should still rack up points in PPR

Saints backfield looks to be less crowded now

Looked like an absolute beast for a couple of the playoff games, is this the shape of things to come and what everyone was waiting for

Negative:

Low YPC

Injury history

#2 RB behind Thomas

For his price I think he is worth taking a shot at. As your RB#3/4 when he is out injured or has an off day he will not hurt you like he would if were counting on him as an every week starter but when he racks up receptions and a TD or two he can be a difference maker in your lineup.

I just took him as the #29 RB in a dynasty ppr start up. I guess at that point I felt it was decent value. To me he looked better as his knee got stronger later in the year. I can still see several 200+ point seasons in his future....1000 rushing/rec yds...8 TDs...55 rec for the next few years wouldn't surprise me.

too many options for Brees and Reggie gets a lot less snaps... so the 90 - 100 Rec days are over.

hes really only a Handcuff to PT until we get a blip that his role is going to get a major increase.

I've had him in a dynasty league for two years now and I'm holding. He's my RB3 currently and we get points for return yards and get more points for receiving yards than rushing.

I like him a lot as a #3 RB. He can muster up the points most #3s ever will and offers the occasional big game. I see him as very solid there.

I own him in one league and I havent had anyone knocking my door down for him. I had a few offers and in each case it was something along the lines of I give Reggie and get an older WR that is playing at a higher level (and things added in accordingly).

Because of his age, I think he's worth holding because I honestly can't see him doing less and I think its more likely that he could pull a Fred Taylor and stay healthy and have a really good streak under the right circumstances and if that happens, you can easily sell high on a 25 year old, performing RB named Reggie Bush.

(let's face it, ALL is forgiven if you have a name and can put a recent string together).

Reggies play was a big reason they were able to take the title. He was FINALLY healthy after a bad knee, and rebounded to look like everyone thought he would be. If you think he is not a huge part of this offense you are sorely mistaken. They coulda dropped his 8 million dollar salary but chose to keep him, you tell me if they don't plan to use him. Hes a good player when healthy, and hes healthy now... you do the math. :yucky:

Curious as to how you think the workload will be distributed between Thomas and Bush. If Bush earns 40% of the carries to go along with a bevy of catches, he could put up #2 RB #s in ppr leagues. He also seems to have a nose for end zone.

They won the title because they stopped giving Reggie the ball 20 times a game. Reggie had 17 carries in three games in the playoffs. He was very effective with those carries. He's good as a selectively used change of pace. He's horrible as a featured back. It's also not good for the team if he catches 10 balls, so I would expect that to continue as well. With 6 or 7 targets, he can do some things. Anything beyond that they should (and probably will) avoid going forward.

As we know the everydown bell cow RB's have become few and far between. So after the few everydown RB's are gone you want an RB with upside, good value, and in a good situation.

Reggie Bush:

Can be had at a good value these days

In a great offense

PPR bonus

A nose for the end zone

I've been after the Flacco owner for a while and he recently made me this offer:

Flacco + Forte + 2011 2nd

for

R.Bush + T.Edwards + 2010 1st (1.6)

The only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger right now is that my league is RB crazy and I think I might be able to get Dez Bryant at 1.6

ETA: sorry, my league is non-PPR so ignore this post...

insta accept. I'd expect something like 80 car/300 yds, 40 catches 450 yds, 6 TDs. Really don't see much out of Bush and think Hamilton will get the majority of short yardage carries.

Buy. Best time to buy was mid last year before he had the big playoff showing but he's probably still a little undervalued in most leagues.

Bush was my #2 RB last year in a ppr IDP Dynasty league. He did surprisingly well down the stretch and helped me win my 2nd league championship in a very competitive league. Bush was so overrated that he's underrated now. Buy Bush as your #2/3 RB, he is pretty good when healthy and has a nose for the end zone.

Darren Sproles is getting paid about the same and is a huge part of the Chargers offense, but it doesn't mean he's going to help you much in fantasy. Bush, like Sproles, will have some big PPR games but good luck guessing when those are going to be.

Just sold him in a nonPPR dyno for Mike Wallace.

I was hard after Wallace when Holmes was in town.

Now that he is a full blown starter, I think Mike Wallace explodes onto the scene.
