Reggie Wayne is criminally undervalued (1 Viewer)

I have Wayne on all my teams this year. Wayne kept falling and falling in every draft so I had to take him. Rookie QBs need a safety net to lock into and Wayne is Lucks go to guy. Like Steve Smith was with Newton last season. Wayne has provided tremendous value.

And I'd argue Wayne is more talented than Smith and plays a style that isn't nearly as punishing.

Didn't draft this guy, but was lucky enough to acquire him after week 1. He brings it every week and I can see why he chose to stay in Indy now. Definitely one of my favorite WR's in the NFL.

targeted him and amendola in just about every league im in mainly because they were both falling so low (amendola was more of a flyer i suppose as I got him super late everywhere) In my PPR leagues I have been basically untouchable and am very happy :)

I am so happy that I saw this thread before my draft(or one like it) wayne had kinda fallen off of my radar. He was my 3rd WR pickup and i got him in the 7th round! I just can't decide if I should try to trade him to help my poor RB corps. Probably the best value of the draft!

I've had some big busts on a lot of my teams (Hillis and Ingram everywhere, ugh) but I am glad I picked up Wayne in most of my drafts. He's a stud.I picked Wayne up in a dynasty drafts for Shonne Green when Manning announced he was leaving. Funny.

Alfred Morris says hello

He and Miles Austin were grossly under valued in this year's drafts. I wasn't too crazy about Wayne when he first came into the league, however he has proven that he needs to be mentioned with the elite WR's in recent memory and a true class act. And, last night he was unbelievable, making some really difficult receptions look easy at the ripe age of 33 years old. He's left Harrison in the dust as far as I'm concerned with regard to being the Colt's all time best.

I bought into the B Lloyd hype and tok him at 3.10. I was thrilled that Wayne was still there at 4.3.

As it turns out, Lloyd is a WR3 and Wayne is a WR1, but still the weekly rankings have Lloyd rated higher than Wayne. Sometimes staff just forms a mindset on some players and refuse to budge. Wayne's ranking has continued to creep up week to week. Despite having a bye week already, Wayne is the third highest scoring WR in my league ( I dropped from 5 leagues to one this year)

Some owners at my draft gasped when I took Wayne at 4.3. The same guys gasped when I took Matt Ryan at 2.3. Those two picks have made my season so far. Rankings are nothing more than just another person's opinion. I can miss the boat on some of my player rankings, and so do the experts. However, at times I think the experts' opinions can be influenced by their own egos. They can dig their heels in on some players.

I didn't think it was much of a leap to expect Wayne to have a far better 2012 than 2011 with a very NFL ready rookie like Luck at QB. Wayne played with a DIV II QB last year... of course he was going to improve on last year. This much? No, I didn't expect this. I thought he was be a solid top 20 though.

I also think Avery will be a solid, if inconsistant WR3... for someone else, I would not want 2 WR's with a rookie QB in my starting line up every week. Luck and Wayne are bound to have some down weeks too. The reports of Wayne's demise were premature.

I'd be curious to see what some of you think Wayne is worth in dynasty right now. It seems like everyone just looks at his age and wants to seriously discount him. He is currently the #1 WR in PPR fantasy in points per game right now. He is also #1 in targets per game at 15. Here are some of the match-ups he's got coming up.

Week 7 - Browns #27 pass defense

Week 8 - Titans #26

Week 9 - Miami #29

Week 10 - Jags #19

Week 11 - Pats #24

Week 12 - Bills #22

Week 14 - Titans again #26

He could very realistically end up the #1 fantasy WR this year in PPR formats and he is signed through 2014. He could very easily produce at a WR1 level again next year. He's got to be near the top of the list that possible playoff teams would like to acquire and teams that are 0-5 are looking to sell. If you thought he could propel you into the playoffs this year or possibly be the piece you needed to win a championship what would you be willing to pay in dynasty?

Reggie Wayne, a mid WR1 the rest of the way...It's true, guy has top 5 hands in the league and is a top 5 route runner also.

This is eerily similar to Steve Smith Car last year, goes to show how much QBs affect WRs.

I don't know....Wayne did pretty good last year with total garbage at QB....Smith didn't really with the garbage he had pre-Cam and he's not tearing it up this year either.

He's saving my ### in my main redraft. Only grabbed him in one league, but did target him in them all. Thanks again to the OP. Good threads like this make you rethink some guys and find value.

"Criminal" is the key here. Those of us who drafted him in 8th+ round are reaping in a top-tier value reward. I personally stole a win from my opponent due to Reggie's performance this week. I feel confident that he will be solid for the rest of the season.
