Does anyone know anything about the relationship between penalties and victories in the NFL?
I thought I had read that it was negligible. I also thought I had read this might be confounded because winning teams take part in more total plays and therefore have more opportunities for being penalized.
Of course, we tend to think that teams with lots of penalties should do poor and I am curious why this might not be true and if it is an artifact of some kind.
TIA.
