Ren's old crypto thread || we know how to buy this stuff now (1 Viewer)

Select (or create if it doesn't show) a USD card. Then click Add funds. You should see credit/debit card as an option on that screen.
Which funding proposition on Uphold is a better value:

1) 3.99% cc fee or

2) Using Bookmaker as was suggested, with 1x rollover required to withdraw + btc value risk between the time you withdraw and the time it posts?

Even at 3.99% it appears less risky than a sports bet + btc fluctuation.

Hmm I thought someone reported that Uphold now allows credit cards but I dont see the option. Anyone had any luck?
I tried it out last night. Took about 2 minutes from initiating the deposit to moving from the USD card to the BAT card.

If you mean you'd then have to transfer said BTC to uphold, you'd be looking at the hefty BTC network fee (upwards of $30 last time I tried) as well.

anyone on Kucoin exchange? If so, and they have a referral program (I don't see a mention of it on the site, but the sign up screen has a space for Invite Code), first to send me their link/invite code gets it.

Don't do the sports thing unless you're already gambling there

HALP ALTCOIN WIZZES!

Still sitting about 30% in FUN (FunFair), Stellar (XLM), and Cardano (ADA)... and feeling like my cash is just languishing/bleeding out there.

Any point in holding these? Any better places between Binance/Uphold/GDAX for this money right now? LOoking for something aggressive.

Primary "long-ish" positions are ETH / XRP / XRB.

DANKA!
didn't FUN hit a new exchange yesterday? Did you get a bounce?

XRB (Railblocks) being added to binance soon.  For those with access on other exchanges might be a good short term trade in anticipation of the binance pump.

Unfamiliar. Plz to explain the pros/cons
Better interface, default dark theme, voip if we're feeling really ambitious, memes look better, my video game clique is on there already, lightweight client, nice mobile app, convenience for me personally etc. It upended skype for people that play video games

After I hit confirm it said you will be redirected to your bank for confirmation, then it took me back to the confirm page. No pending balance.

My ex-employer, Eastman Kodak (KODK) is up 42% today. Why?

Eastman Kodak Co. became the latest to do so on Tuesday, when the company said it would begin a "major blockchain initiative." Kodak intends to use digital ledgers to help photographers license their work and get paid for usage.

The stock (KODK) rocketed 55% in active midday trade, after being down as much as 1.6% earlier in the session. That puts the stock, which closed at a record low of $3.05 as recently as Jan. 4, on track for its biggest one-day gain since the stock began trading in its current form in September 2013.

Now what does Kodak know about blockchain? Not much I'm sure. This was a company that had a digital camera in the 80s and buried it because film would never die.
Kodak had OLED and RFID edges they sold for a song.

same for me - it says it can take up to 30 minutes. I will wait a bit - it has been about 15 minutes and then try it again. I wonder if there is an issue with their technology.. being the first 24 hours of this ...

Hope Uphold expands its offerings. Would love to play some others aside from BAT.
I'm surprised they added Bitcoin Gold before many of the other alts.  Must have been to free it up for BTC holders or something.  I'm sure much of it has to do with the crypto being well-vetted and them establishing liquidity first.  It's simple enough to set up a Bittrex account (no kyc) to exchange crypto to crypto for.  For me, Uphold functions as a transparent/trustworthy exchange to hold gold in when I want to swap out of digital assets.  I don't use it for much else.  This is the exchange Brendan Eich chose to administer BAT to Brave users so I trust them as much as anyone else.

Plus they're kind of low-key and aren't blocking registration to my knowledge.  I like that they aren't huge.

This happened to me the first time, but then I tried again and it worked.  It was like it closed or bypassed the bank confirmation page or something (probably stealing all my money in the process).

:lmao:  That's just stupid.

I'll take a look at discord and the other options and hopefully set something up tonight. If anyone else feels strongly one way or the other let me know.

same thing happened to me.. it worked the 2nd time.. wierd

ETA - it was nice to have the $500 available immediately and being able to make an immediate transfer out of cash, but I am not sure it is worth the $19.95 in processing unless you really need to get the money into the market.

I think XLM is mid to long term play with IBM involved.   I would hold.   They are 20% of my portfolio and I don't plan on selling any time soon.

Not to undercut you or anything but I went ahead and made a server for us, it takes like 2 seconds.  If you/others want to host a board on a different client I can delet this and edit the new one into the first post.

I dipped my toe in the water on BAT, ETH, and LTC, though most of it went into BAT. I was also able to set up a CC on Uphold and make a deposit while I wait the 7 days for my other funds to clear. Still can't get on Binance, and am looking at other exchanges to get on so I can work on other coins. I've seen Kucoin and Bitgrail mentioned here - anything else?

IOTA. Don't ask me why. Cool name.

I'm in between jobs right now and and trying to learn as much about blockchain etc. while I have the time.   I've done Product Management, Project Management and a lot of Digital Marketing over the past 10 years.  I'm trying to work an angle to get a job as a Product or Project manger for companies who have or are looking to incorporate blockchain technology.   I came across this three part read and thought I would share.   The links to the corresponding articles are linked in the one below:

Can anyone suggest a calculator where you can enter your holdings and it will track them for you?  It's a PITA having to amalgamate holdings across 4+ exchanges etc.  TIA

Definitely this.

I started out by using CoinCap and it was alright, but not very flashy.

Moved over the Blockfolio and it was slightly better.

But 2 days ago I moved to Delta and I'm loving it. My one the coolest features is that I can do all my transactions to get my report but I can also sync it with my wife's phone so that whenever she wants to know how we're doing she just opens her copy of Delta. And any changes I make on my phone automatically shows up on her's now that we're sync'ed.

Ignore the crappy title and read the guys' words. This is coin that's doing things the right way. It's not going to make you money each day like some of these ####coins or other pump and dumps. But when Jan 1st 2019 rolls around I'm willing to bet it's a top 3 coin and will continue to be in the years after that too.

Finally got my new cash into my accounts. Stupid banks/exchanges are so slow in taking money I want to invest.

Bought into XRB and DBC. I was tempted to go for some of the riskier stuff but decide that these two were a balance between the risk and long term holds.

My current portfolio:

ICX - 52%

IOTA - 14%

APPC - 10%

XRB - 9%

DPC - 9%

BAT - 3%

VEN - 3%

Only reason I'm so top heavy on ICX is that it's been doing really well over the last week. I'm considering taking some off the top there and moving it elsewhere, but on the other hand I don't think ICX has reached a plateau yet.

This might be the worst idea I've ever heard.
