Ren's old crypto thread || we know how to buy this stuff now (1 Viewer)

Alright, after watching BTC, ETH, and XRP, I give in. Going to sign up for Uphold and buy some BAT.

Third is you want the team to look like pedos, that way you know they're good programmers. If they look like American Eagle models it's probably shovelware.
:lmao:

In to Litecoin at $322 per a couple of days ago. <_<

Anyone looking for someone to blame for the dip, it is me. I'm cursed at all sorts of risk taking ventures.
You're good, just hold. I've been told it will eventually equal .25 BTC and since McAfee promised that he'd eat his own **** on live television if BTC didn't hit 500k within 3 years you're holding 125k coins my dude. I'm being sarcastic, you may want to cut your loses.

It says the deposit takes 5-7 business days. Any chance it happens faster?

ETA - I did the same dumb move and funded my USD card

I've been using it for about 4 months and I like it a lot.  I'd been using Chrome for years and years and was really excited at the prospects for this thing when I heard about it.  The potential for this currency and valuation of user attention is just astronomical.  But even without that it's just a killerass browser.  At least in terms of speed and privacy, let alone the ecosystem it stands to build for users, publishers and advertisers.

So there was like $100M tethers printed today and like clockwork, bitcoin is up 10% (17.5k) while alts bleed.  I am so tired of this ####coin die die die!!!!

Tether team will be in jail, it’s almost a guarantee.

This is going to be a huge setback for the entire crypto markets in general.

This dood sums it up pretty well here:

When you have an unregulated marketplace, you open yourself up to fraud, although just by following Tether being printed, pretty easy way to trade Bitcoin.

I really wish they had options on top of futures, I’d limit my risk to like $10k and buy a #### ton of dated lotto tickets.

Download the Brave browser and use it for a little.  Then you can get BAT on binance, exodus or upload.

Brave is a good product from what I can tell.  You come here and no ads and faster.  Ripple also has real world value and income.  They are teamed with Amex.  But there is a ton of ripple out there so I think their ceiling is low.  If they ever hit 10 bucks it would be great but I think they are safe, even in a bubble.

Fyi this is cav, jb banned me for a time.

I'm going to give BAT a whirl, just waiting for Uphold to verify me. Been using Brave for a couple of weeks now, it's a bit basic and occasional web sites won't load properly, but works well and fast 98% of the time. But I also think Brendan Eich is a pretty brilliant guy, and I believe in the cause. Digital advertising is broken, and a system that almost everyone hates - users, advertisers, and agencies - and only a few entrenched behemoths like Google and Facebook love. If there can be some momentum towards an alternative system, it could be a game changer. Low probability that the answer will be Brave/BAT, but I'm interested enough to play around with it.

Ok how does uphold work exactly?

I need to buy bitcoin card...then once that's done, I can then buy bat?

You can deposit straight to a BAT card... set up the card, then go to that card (i.e. make it the active card you are looking at) then click Add Funds.

My bank deposit to my BAT card took the full 7 business days, and it was at the end of the day on the 7th day. But you are locked in at the rate from when you initiated the deposit. It shows in your Transactions (along with the locked in rate) as "Pending" during the 7 days.

Digital marketers love FB, there is a reason their revenue has grown at such a ridiculous pace. FB is one of the greatest marketing tools ever, and advertisers couldn’t be happier that they can put so much of their budget into one place with so much scale.

Just added another 4.xxxxxx ETH coins to my portfolio last night, I'm now a little over 14 ETH coins.  The more I read about the tech on Ethereum, the more excited I get.  The future possibilities are literally endless and this is definitely the next wave of the internet.

You can call them ether if you like :)

I set up an account on Uphold and saw the quick video on setting up a new card.  But when I set up a card, none of the cryptocurrencies are listed as choices - only the basic national currencies and metals.  Am I missing some step somewhere?

If you are looking at your dashboard on Uphold, and you click "Add card/currency" you don't see BAT, BTC etc listed in the drop-down list under Currency? If not, is your account verified? If so, the only other thing I could think of would be some sort of restriction on your location.

Agreed, I meant beyond Facebook and Google AdWords - and even there a growing number of advertisers are starting to raise doubt the effectiveness. But it's a bigger issue on sites that create content.

Which system do you figure publishers and users will love?

Right, none of those are listed in that drop-down list under currency.  Only Argentine Peso, Australian Dollar, Brazilian Real, Canadian Dollar...

I went through the steps last night and the account verification went through this morning.

Crap.  Does NY state have restrictions?

Yeah, it was a good idea not to just assume I would have checked that, but no dice. Just the 27 regular currencies in alphabetical order ending with Yuan.
Sorry.  I can't think of a good reason why coins wouldn't show up for you.  Can you see gold/silver?

In for 0.70 Ether at a ####ty near 700 cost basis so prepare for the crash.

Am I locked in at the price Coinbase says I am? I just have to wait five or seven days to actually get the coin?

Nice.  Yeah it'll clear at the price you confirmed it after so many days

Short post of where I am with crypto since Halloween:

Had been holding pocket change in BTC for over a year because of gambling residuals, didnt add any. Started off with LTC, and ETH - mainly out of FOMO. I got lucky to be so dumb to have put in when I did. Have since put in more to these two. Time for hodling there.

Kind of lost attention after that initial investment for a week or two and then decided I should stop trying to be an idiot and actually learn up about where I'm putting in money.

I have a little bit in Ripple based on not much more than tea leaves and listening to how people more experienced in the field talk about it. Educated dart throw to say the least, but at least it was backed by something other than pure FOMO.

I read IOTA's whitepaper and liked what they're at least saying they are trying to accomplish with microtransactions. Based on the pimping here and how much I do like Brave, I'm in on BAT for a small amount.

I like where Cardano is trying to come from, but what I have read on them seems like a bunch of posturing because "muh academia". Need to look more.

OmiseGo and Aragon are on my shortlist to research next, and if @Peyton Marino is interested in Request, that means I should probably give it a once-over too.

Just trying to be a consumer of a lot of information but am looking to make some small moves before another wave of mania takes off. For moon's sake, y'know.

@hagmania You might want to check out NEO too. My portfolio consists is heavily weighted towards BTC and ETH, with smaller percentages in LTC, XMR, DASH, NEO, OMG and BAT.

Uphold makes it a massive pain in the rear to set up an account.  Went through the verification steps including scanning my drivers license, taking a photo of myself, and signing over my first born child in pig's blood. Then tried to connect a bank account to add funds, and it gives me an error with no explanation. Submitted a support request and hoping it doesn't go into a black hole.  A normal person would not have the patience to deal with all this.

If I wanted to send fund from coinbase to binance would you guys recommend ETH or LTC? Which is quicker? Or should I not have any problem regardless.

Also, I've only dealt with BTC, ETH and LTC. Does the Ledger Nano S support everything on binance?

Fought this at Coinbase for several days.
