SI's Peter King is reporting that coach Scott Linehan is expected to be given his "walking papers" if the Rams lose to the Bills on Sunday.Linehan has the Rams off to an 0-3 start and has nearly lost the faith of his entire offense. Marc Bulger, Steven Jackson, and Torry Holt have all spoken out, or at least hinted, that they're fed up with their head coach. Source: Associated Press

I never understand "reports" like this. In this case management knows the players want him gone, so what good does coming out with the lose and your gone routine do? I'm sure Sjax and Holt will give 110% to keep linehan around.

Exactly. Based on what is being reported with regard to player thoughts on Linehan, I expect SJax and Holt to call in sick on Sunday.

While he will now go for 100 and two TDs, the oncoming implosion will have me take my chances with Forte against a Philly team that has been very good against RBs thus far. It is not as if we have one report here - the guy has utterly lost the team. I can't see much effort on Sunday if this is really the case (and how can it not be the case?).When was the last full on mutiny like this, and when has there been one so early in the season?

Heard a rumor that Cowher has already agreed in principle

to sublet Linehan's house in the St Louis area.

:goodposting: :lmao:

I hope you're right about SJax since I have the same decision and am keeping Forte on the bench. Though this news does have my 2nd guessing my decision since he could easily not give 100% to help get rid of Linehan. Not that they really need to do anything different than they've been doing if they want to lose.

If there's any truth to this, STL tanks the game on Sunday, to prove to the owner they want Linehan gone.

But the problem isn't Linehan. He's actually a decent coach.

The GM blows. Their offensive line is in shambles, and they have done nothing to bring in anyone else.

What has he done that makes you think that? Drafting is definitely a major problem, but Linehan is a horrible coach.

Regardless, he should pack his bags now and have them ready because there's no way St. Lois comes out and beats him, especially with the talent on the team wanting him out.

Like I've said many times, 2 years too late!

Rams | Holt apologizes for Bulger benching

Sat, 27 Sep 2008 06:46:19 -0700

Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams WR Torry Holt felt bad for the benching of QB Marc Bulger. Holt said he went up to Bulger and apologized for the offense's performance thus far. "You know I was shocked, man," Holt said. "I was really shocked. First and foremost, I went up to Marc immediately and apologized to him as a receiver. And (apologized) for our receiving group, and for our offense - for not making enough plays to give him an opportunity to stay on the football field with us as we move forward in the fourth week."

Rams | Linehan says he hasn't heard from Bulger

Sat, 27 Sep 2008 06:40:07 -0700

Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams head coach Scott Linehan said Friday, Sept. 26, that if QB Marc Bulger has decided he no longer can play for him, Bulger has not informed the head coach as of yet. "He's never given me any (such) indication," Linehan told reporters. "I know he's disappointed with my decision. He's practiced very well this week, and worked hard, and all those things. If that's his feeling, he's never mentioned that to me. You have to ask him that particular question."

He has obviously lost the team, so the Rams should let him go.

I think if they would have solved their offensive line problems from last season, we wouldn't be talking about him being fired 4 games into the season.

So Kiffin was suppose to be fired last Monday.

Linehan is suppose to be fired this Monday.

Who will we say will be fired next Monday?

Fair question. And in my defense, I never said he was a good HEAD coach. He was the Vikes offensive coordinator under Tice (I'm a MN homer) and he had a really good game plan every week and did alot with very little help from the front office.

McCombs wouldn't spend a nickel to upgrade the team when he was trying to sell it.

But I do agree, that whatever has happened in St. Louis (I haven't followed them much) isn't working. Honestly I'm a bit shocked they are in this bad of a situation.

They (Rams) have failed to address the Offensive Line in either the draft or FA, and there ARE players out there they could of had. Whether it's oversight, or just plain ignorance, it doesn't matter if Joe Montana is the starter, the Rams will struggle to win 2 games this year.

Linehand is a very good OC, but at this point he has failed as a head coach, this is not uncommon a lot of asst. coaches fail as head coaches.

The OL has really let this team down over the last couple of years, and when your team is more offense based you need a line that can preform.

That makes more sense. I thought you meant he was a good head coach... which he may be, but the sample size in St. Louis says it's doubtful. He ran a terrible offense in St. Louis while trying to handle the HC duties, has made pathetic personnel decisions and has had problems with the star offensive players going back to last year. Don't get me started in the drafting, but I think that's more Zygmunt than Linehan. Hopefully he gets canned tomorrow, too.

if jackson runs one back to his own endzone buffalo d gets the credit, right....?
 :excited: Dammitall anyway--would Jackson get the credit, is my question??!!! I don't really care who he scores for.... :D

It is a tough choice playing him or not--think they'll fold? Would they really throw the game? jeeeeeezzzz heaven help Green...

What a boring game and such predictable play calling from the Lambs. Anyone in favor of Linehan being fired before the 4th quarter is over?

What does the new coach do with Bulger in his first week on the job?
