Requiem for the Big East (1 Viewer)

The last 30 for 30 I've been excited to see since maybe the Fab Five.

Anyone else watching?

Yes. In.

My annual Spring Break rite was watching the tourney. Most dudes partied it up in various locales. I stayed home, visited high school friends, and watched the tourney.

Wow I knew the people didn't like Ewing during the prime of Georgetown but no idea that people was calling them stupid and an ape. Even having a guy in the court in ape outfit.

I had no idea that Louie Carnesecca was still alive.

I'm a Cincinnati alum. So I'm not a long time historian of the Big East.

But I love Boeheim, Raftery, and John Thompson.

What a stacked league this was for a few years.

Oh yeah I'm in

I grew up right behind Seton Hall's Walsh gym

I remember sneaking into the gym after school on game nights and hiding out for a couple of hours until the games started

Btw, I went to one Big East tournament in MSG.

I saw the Gerry McNamara three pointer at the buzzer to beat UC. I was devastated, because I wanted to stay for another day. I skipped class just to go on a moments notice.

Still one of the coolest things I witnessed, because I was unofficially traveling with the UC team

I did not see this 30 for 30 yet, so I don't know if it was in there, but there was a sign that said, "Patrick Ewing can't read this sign."

What's interesting is Ewing was on the fence about going to UNC but was worried about "all the racism" he'd encounter.
