Richard Marshall & Roman Harper (1 Viewer)

Both Marshall and Harper left a lot to be desired in week 1. Do you see them turning it around at some point or would I be safe dropping one? Anybody that watched them play have the scoop on why their production was so low? I thought Harper would be a beast against a pass-happy Detriot...:-\

while Harper's stat line was far from great, he finished 3rd on the team in tackles for the week, so i wouldnt be that concerned just yet. It looks like the tackle opportunities were a little low for NO and I think he will be fine going forward. Detroit is really not the best matchup for a safety.

Marshall had a fumble recovery reversed due to replay. He was around the ball, but wasn't involved in a lot of plays directly. Didn't help that the Eagles got a huge lead without really needing to do much offensively. This lead to low opportunities for Marshall to contribute in the pass D. Also, when a game is a blow out like that, it's hard to gauge if what is happening is normal/trend or just a product of the blowout (players half ###ing it, conservative calls, getting backups more reps, etc)

Based on his track record, I'd give Harper a few more games before declaring him a drop.

Try to not let one week sway your opinion without looking into the reasons. Players can have bad week ones just like they can have bad weeks in the middle of the season. Both Harper and Marshall are too good to cut after one week.

I own both these guys and am sitting tight. SS against Detroit typically isn't a good matchup because Detroit isn't really a power-running offense (or much of an offense period). Carolina got mauled by Philly. Give it 3 more weeks and re-evaluate.

thanks guys. I didn't feel like my DB draft was great this year and after week 1 I started to get a little nervous. Cortland Finnegan was on the ww so I picked him up too. After week 3, I'll evaluate Marshall and Harper and probably drop one for LB depth since I'm down both Poz and Timmons.
