Richard Marshall (1 Viewer)

He should get his chance next year, Gamble is set become an UFA. Carolina also has Peppers set to be an UFA, they may franchise him.

You would think the Panthers are not gong to spend big bucks on Gamble with Marshall around. We'll see.

Potential great news for Marshall owners...

" The Panthers are expected to part with CB Ken Lucas this offseason.

Richard Marshall didn't have his best season in 2008, but has been overdue for a promotion to the starting lineup. Lucas' age (30), price tag ($5.6 million in salary), and tendency to be beaten deep will make him expendable. | 1/11/2009 1:02:00 PM

LMAO

Whispers / PFW

Panthers CB Ken Lucas expressed uncertainty about his future with the team recently, but sources say it looks as if he'll be released this offseason. Lucas has a large cap figure for next season and did not finish the season strong. With No. 3 CB Richard Marshall waiting in the wings, clearing some space by cutting Lucas could be helpful as the team tries to re-sign DE Julius Peppers and OT Jordan Gross.

Lucas will draw interest.

Not to rain on the parade but why do we think he will live up to the hype when he has been unable to get the starters job on his own...

His not getting the starting role was not due to lack of talent it was due to John Fox is an idiot.Fox will always play the veteran player with the most years regardless, of how mediocre or bad the vet ahead of the young guy is.

If there is an open position and the young guy is good then he will play him...but if one of his guys is ahead on the depth chart your sitting...talent be damned.

Now Fox has no choice now but to play Marshall. So now Marshall owners can pop the bubbly and celebrate

Let's see. Why did DeAngelo Williams step up only after DeShaun Foster left?
