This is lousy. Sorry if I'm defending people I didn't necessarily like, but these comments suck, as always, and from the usual suspects.

Polarizing isn't equivalent to Hitler. I'm not falling on a sword for her, but she deserves more than crap. 

And I love badmojo1006 and wikkidpissah as comrades-in-arms, it's just this isn't right. 

Sorry, I defend both left and right when it comes to this. Even so much as to delete a thread that might have disrespected Ali upon his death. In a good mood tonight, I just think that those have passed and given opinions are entitled to a farewell RIP without ####.

Oh, I think badmojo posted this knowing EXACTLY what the responses would be.  It's why he posted it in the first place.  Not sure I buy his "oh golly jee, just don't say anything bad" routine.

Seriously look at the comments in this thread. They are mild. Not sure what you and Rockaction are getting so up in arms about.

I know what you're saying. I get it. I got it. It's just that outside cases of extreme extremism, we should probably RIP the dead because of the sanctity of the brevity of life and all it means to our loved ones. I probably wouldn't RIP Hitler, nor dance anywhere, but we draw lines, and Schlafly was no evil person.  

 
Haven't heard much from her since the 80s.   She was big around the time of the PMRC and the record warning label stink that pulled Zappa and Dee Snider in front of congress

 
It's benign, just total disrespect. Maybe earned, but there are much worse creature humans that have walked the earth. 

And I'm not pissed, just pointing out that it's a little bit of a #### move. Whatever, last comment. See ya!  

 
On the men's side you had Vidal-v-Buckley, on the women's side you had Friedan-v-Schlafly.

I will never understand this position. If someone sucks, then the world is better off without him or her. No need to pretend like (s)he was a good person when (s)he lived.

Well, according to the Trumpkins she's on death's door. But that aside, when she does die I'm sure the same people who are just OUTRAGED that people aren't paying the proper respects to Ms. Schlafly will be turning the RIP Clinton thread into a cesspool.

 
It's hard for me to find a single viewpoint of hers I agree with: she appeared to be the sort of nativist, anti-globalist Republican that brought about Donald Trump (in fact, her last book is titled The Conservative Case For Donald Trump.)

And yet- she was somewhat of a remarkable woman. It's ironic that for someone who spent so much time railing against modern feminism, her career would have been impossible without it. At a time when very few women had an effect on political thought in this country, she was one of those few. And her staunch anti-Communism is to her credit.

Despite Tim's bizarre love for someone as crooked as Hillary he at least manages to be respectful at times like this.
