I'm not quite sure what to make of this.

Thoughts?

She's in the left hand lane. She's going 50 mph. Guy is tailgating her. She doesn't move over. And when he goes to pass, she appears to speed up. I'm not sure I can blame the guy for giving her the finger. But I may be missing something.

Yeah, when I first heard of it, I thought the same thing. The only thing that has me on the fence is that it's a highway with stoplights. The lady said that she was planning on making a left turn in under a mile. On a highway, move to the right if you're going slow. But on roads like that, I think it's wrong to expect people to move out of the left lane to let someone pass.

And that's coming from a lead foot who hates when people camp out in the left lane.

Yeah, at the end when she appears to pull over, she's actually just in the left turn lane at a light. She also doesn't speed up, he looks to notice she's filming and slows down to flip her off. I hate people cruising in the left lane, but I feel she's okay here, and he's a complete stupid ### fool. She shouldn't be filming and driving though.

He's an ##### no doubt, but it many ways she is worse. Cruising in the left lane, using her phone as a videocamera while driving, speeding up when he tries to pass. Screw her.

Both are asses... Only ideal outcome for society would have been him taking her out with him when he loses control.

I think that is where I am. But I fully admit to not having all the info.
If we were lucky, they could both wreck, be thrown from their vehicles and end up like Kathleen Turner landing on Michael Douglas in Romancing the Stone.

It didn't seem like she sped up but she probably was driving slower so she could record it. Also didn't really seem like he was all that close behind her.

Based on her interview here.. She claims she only sped up because the speed limit increased at that point..

and I agree with TheIronSheik that on a highway get your A## over .. but on roads like this, there are no "highway" rules as you never know where the person in front of you may need to turn at..

I deal with at least one of these types of people almost every day on the highways...

On my way home the speed limit is 55 and, unless someone in front of me is going slower, I am always doing 65-70 passing slower traffic in the middle and right lane...

yet it never fails some jerk thinks that because in 5 miles the limit changes to 65 I'm driving too slow and rides my A##..

I've gotten to the point that if they do this I'll slow down to match the speed of the car next to me and watch the steam.. .

Not to be a one-upper, but the title reminded me of something glorious that happened last month. I'm on 95s in RI, heading towards the Connecticut border. There is a dude on my ### who has NY plates. I am doing 80 in the passing lane, and I am passing a crapload of cars, and he's still tailgating. Exit 3 is about a half-mile away, and there is a well-known (to locals) speed trap at the bottom of a steep hill right before the exit. A state trooper is sitting there all day, every day, hidden behind some small trees.

You can probably guess where the story is going. I pull into the right-hand lane, he speeds by and gives me the requisite tough guy look. By the time he gets to the bottom of the hill, he had to be going at LEAST 90 mph as he passed the statie. Flashing lights.... have a nice day, guy.

I executed it beautifully.

Gotten 2 tickets in that same speed trap. Good story though. Must have been headed to Foxwoods?

Has the internet figured out who this guy is yet?
From the link I provided above:

The man drove away from the accident, but thanks to the woman's video, police say they were able to track him down. Jeffrey White was charged with leaving the scene, reckless driving and failure to wear a seat belt, according to WTSP.
Dip Sh&T.. :lmao:

The dude is a jackhole, but she's no better. If there really is such a thing as Karma, we'll hear about something bad happening to her soon.

Apparently she couldn't move over because of trucks on the right, and she had a left turn lane to get into ahead.

And she was just holding the phone up in her hand without looking at it, so she always had her eyes on the road.

Also, others have recognized the guy and says he's a #### all the time on the roads.

She said she sped up to match the speed limit increase on that section of road. She was driving safely, she said, keeping an eye on her mirrors and the road.
This from her interview. She sped up to match the speed limit increase.. yeah right. Then said she was keeping an eye on her mirrors and the road.. :bs:

She kept her eyes on the phone. It's a wonder she didn't rear end someone in front of her with all her attention on him. It's hard to find a woman driver anymore who isn't on the phone. They both were jerks and should both get a ticket IMO.

Yeah pretty sure filming while driving is a ticket in most states. She was unsafe and really caused the incident. When she filmed her speedometer she wasn't even doing 50. The speed limit is at least 60. She is the reason for the whole incident.

I hate them both. Your first instinct was to grab your phone and start recording? I know why the terrorists hate us.

But people in big trucks are the worst tailgaters.

My only regret in this story is that she didn't get some comeuppance.

The guy got was coming to him but she's due for some karma herself.

In the comments she says that he was tailgating her for 3 miles. In the video I see a total of two cars in the right lane over 90 seconds of drive time. She had ample opportunity to slide to the right, let him pass, then move back out to continue passing other cars. She doesn't have the right to obstruct traffic because she's going to turn left in 3 miles.

Too many get self-righteous about the left lane. When I'm passing cars at a good clip if someone comes up on me at faster rate than I'm traveling then it's no big inconvenience to pull over for a few seconds. I may even speed up a little to more quickly slide to the right to let him by and move back over to pass myself again. There's no magic defensible speed to stay in the left lane when it's obvious faster drivers want to pass.

As per the "karma" meme, that should be coming.

The girl has changed her story a few times. The initial video was at around 100k views when I saw it, and in her description, she claimed she couldnt get over because of the trucks.

Karma would have been those two dying in a fiery explosion n the wreck involving just their vehicles.

That spinout was glorious. Must have been slick roads and he cut over quickly in front of her and spun.

I watched the video I saw room to get over. Further she must have looked at the phone as she kept reaiming it. I sense a lot of lies.

The lady driving the car is the problem. When the video starts the vehicle she's passing is even with the truck behind her. She apparently slowed down around the 8 second mark because the truck behind her closes in and the vehicle she's supposedly passing must have pulled even with her because it's no longer in sight out the back window. It doesn't appear behind here again until the 50 second mark. This is after 3 minutes of clogging the passing lane before she started recording. The tailgating guy got what he deserved, but hopefully she's got a little something coming her way as well.

Man did that guy have a bad day. Wrecked his truck. Was laughed at by the annoying broad. And then he gets cited with multiple violations.

I think she was "okay" up until laughing at the dude for wrecking his truck.

I can't think of a time where its appropriate to laugh at someone in an automobile accident and it certainly wasn't appropriate here.

I watched a short video, not a full version, but when I watched it, I thought the same thing. Also, in the video I saw, she just kept on driving. Seems like you'd want to stop and check to see if anyone was alright after witnessing an accident. I mean, in some states, it's the law to stop.

What about the fact that the lady driver turned the truck's plate over to LE and they arrested and charge the truck driver with leaving the scene of an accident, careless driving, and failure to wear a seat belt? Cops saw it a completely different way.

female was passive aggressive not letting him pass her by when she could have easily switched lanes. male driver was a moron for letting his temper get to him like that, and potentially killing people with that kind of driving, both people here fail at life

That's the kind of guy to get out with a crowbar or something worse. No way I'm stopping. Particularly after giving him the Nelson laugh.

Did you read the part about her turning left within 1/2 mile? I get in the left lane 4+ miles before I turn left on a 4 lane highway just like that AND my turn has no turn lane, it's a U-turn. If you don't, 90% of the time, you end up having to cut in front of someone while trying to get over.

Now onto the part that makes this jackwad look like an even bigger ########. Lets say he's got another 10 miles to go to his destination. She's going 50, he can probably go 60 on that road. So, if my calculations are correct, his stupidity was an attempt to save a scrawny 2 minutes at best assuming he makes every light. Instead, he's sitting on the side of the road with a ####ed up truck. This guy is the kind of guy that hauls ### up to a light that just turned red and then locks them up and seconds later is at the same spot as the cars he passed. Her cell phone camera triggered his ########ery. That is :lmao:

It was pretty awesome that big truck guy crashed for sure. Having one of those lifted trucks on your ### is annoying as all get out.

However, she was being obnoxious for sure. If I had to guess she is probably a left lane driver that stays there when they don't need to be and then gets all righteous about it.

I'm with the "they both suck" group.

Was her name published? If so, in all seriousness, she'd better watch her back. That guy isn't locked up, he already bonded out. He may well go looking for some payback. If not now, somewhere down the road.

I finally watched the video. All I have to say is :lmao:

You can't flip someone the bird and then crash. All ability to criticize the chick goes out the window at that point.

Having anybody tailgating you is as annoying as annoying gets. If only all tailgaters could crash in a humiliating fashion.

Had a logging truck trying to bully me on a narrow mountain road once. I had my whole family with me and admittedly was not driving fast as it was night and I didn't know the road. I had planned on pulling over at the first opportunity to let the guy go on. He passed me in a valley between 2 hills I slowed down and got as far right as possible but he still didn't get around me until he crested the top of the hill. Easily could've killed someone had they been coming in the other lane. In my rear view I spot a car about a mile back, turns out it was the police. Unbelievable on such a desolate road but it was my lucky night. Blues come on and they race past me, I wanted so badly as I come up on them to stop but had decided the police might not like it. As we are going passed the officer gives me a smile and I nod back...guy knew he had just given me instant karma. I wished all of life worked that way.

When I first saw this video a few days ago I thought both were idiots.

She was on the radio and said something about the left lane only being for passing on highways & interstates. She said she discussed it with a trooper after the incident and he said it was a common misconception.

Bingo, exactly my policy as well.
