I learned a lot of interesting stuff from his two minute intros.

TCM has narrowed their playlist a lot in recent years.  I guess it makes sense from the network's perspective to run the popular classics in heavy rotation instead of the obscurities in Turner's massive library.

I remember a few years ago many were freaking out that TCM would add commercials or go with a more recent version of classic (like how most oldies stations now don't play anything much older than The Beach Boys). TCM has remained one of the few unique and consistently high quality stations. They are fantastic.

Don't think so.  They have added a whole bunch of more recent stuff in the last three or four years.  And schlock Fridays have yeilded some truly odd results.
