THE NEWS
Wide receiver Rod Smith returned to practice Wednesday, and ran some slow pass routes with a slight limp. Coach Mike Shanahan said that Smith could play as early as Monday night.
Our View
Smith would be a welcome addition to the Broncos lineup, even though Brandon Stokley and Brandon Marshall have filled in well for the injured Javon Walker and Smith. The Broncos have three more weeks to either put Smith on IR or add him to the 53-man roster, so there is no pressure to put him into the lineup for the game Monday night.
With Walker out for at least 4-5 more weeks, is Smith worth rostering? Or is he simply too old and worthless to waste a space? He hasn't had any rapport with Cutler.
