Roethlisberger asking for three-game reduction (1 Viewer)

Tangent thought - I've always wondered how much they :lmao: really :bag: enforce the can't be at the facility / practice thing for the time he misses. Is there a guy sending Roethlisberger detailed game plan stuff each week? Is he getting every snap the QBs take on video delivered to him every day?

Missing the practice and not having contact is a big deal. I wonder how much that's really enforced.

With social media what it is these days, I doubt the Steelers would take the chance of allowing him to hang around. One tweet that he's on the premises, and the franchise is in deep doo-doo.
Yeah, I doubt he'd risk being there. But you think it'd be pretty easy to load him up every day with material and video from practice and be talking to him. Not sure how much of that is allowed (if any)

An interesting sidenote is that former teammate Santonio Holmes will be permitted to workout at the Jets team facilities and even attend team meetings during his 4-game suspension because his suspension is for violating the league’s drug policy. Players serving less than a year's suspension for drug violations are permitted contact with their teamHowever players who violate the steroid policy or the personal conduct policy such as Roethlisberger aren't allowed to go to the team facility or have contact with the team during their suspensions.

:loco:
I do agree with this distinction though. The last thing a guy needs that has a recreational drug problem is to be isolated from his (positive) support group. That feels different from a performance enhancing drug guy.I think you can make the case though that a guy struggling with the issues Roethlesberger has should also have the positive support.

The only ones "struggling" are girls who say "no" to him. He'a a two-time accused raper and he should've been booted from the league - along with dog torturer Michael Sick and probably people kill others in DUIs too (Stallworth, Leonard Little).

Don't cry for me Argentina.

 That is where I was wondering if Ben is going back on his word asking for three. I thought all along it was either going to be 6 or 4 for good behavior, more if he got into more trouble.
Team president Arthur Rooney II will also join Roethlisberger for the meeting (to request at least a 3 game reduction).
That to me is going back on their words.
Does anyone have the actual quote by Goodell annoucing the original suspension? I know that the original suspension was for 6 games but does anyone have a link that shows Goodell stating it could only be reduced to 4 games?
It's not a quote but it's an NFL generated story: http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true
The commissioner said he would review Roethlisberger’s progress under the plan prior to the start of the regular season and consider whether to reduce the suspension to four games. Failure to cooperate and follow the plan could result in a longer suspension, Goodell added.

Why is everyone so hung up on this 4 to 6 talk?

Goodell could decide tomorrow that he wants to suspend Ben for the entire season. Or he could lift his suspension altogether.

There's no documents or contracts being agreed to or signed, it's ENTIRELY up to Goodell's discretion. His and his alone. Goodell has total and complete power in this situation, and there's nothing the NFL offices, the player's union, or Ben can do about it.

I think it's a pretty wild way to enforce policy like this, but that's how Goodell wants it.

Ben getting his suspension reduced more than expected will have a lot more to do with what he says and how he says it tomorrow rather than some hurriedly prepared statement from the NFL that is regurgitated to the AP.

I think Ben is a bordr line raper too ..... but he's not been convicted of anything, just accused and because of that, banning him from his profession, from his line of work, hurting the Steelers and all the Steelers nation in the proess .... man I dunno

Former Steelers great Terry Bradshaw doesn't think that a few months of good behavior should help Ben Roethlisberger get off the hook of a six-game suspension.

"Going to bars -- treating women like that; oh my God," Bradshaw said in comments to the Shreveport Times. "I pray they don't cut [his suspension] to four games. I hope they leave it at six. There is no excuse for that. The egos get out of hand."

Considering Ben and Terry don't get along at all , it's not surprising Terry feels like this.
