Ronald Curry No. 29 for the week? (1 Viewer)

According to FBG's, Ronald Curry is no. 29 for the week.

On Sunday night, I was looking at some of the players on my squad and two players that didn't start for me in Week 2, I really was looking forward to starting in week 3. Those two players are QB Campbell who's got a quality matchup vs. the Giants while I bench Romo and WR Ronald Curry over Evans (and Crotchery who also has sat in a WR start 2 behind S. Smith and Evans).

Curry went up against the Lions in Week 1 and earned 10 receptions, 133 yards and 1 TD. It was a very impressive outing but of course we all know it was against the Lions who have a poor secondary.

In week 2, they faced the Denver Broncos in Denver. Denver just came off a game in Buffalo where Lee Evans had next to nothing. So, going into that game, many people felt that Curry would have a very difficult matchup.

Coming out of that matchup, the Raiders are coming home again and are facing the Cleveland Browns. The Browns gave up 45 points last week, zero of them rushing Td's and zero of them defensive or special teams. That means 6 TDs were of the passing variety.

Now, in no way shape or form is McCown, Palmer or is Curry, CJ. However, even if you take 50 percent of that monsterous total, you have 3 Td's.

You throw in that LaMont Jordan who's off to as good as start as anyone at RB is questionable because of his back, the Raiders will have to throw.

So, needless to say I was very surprised to see Curry so far down the list. I think Curry as he was week 1 is a solid play against one of the worst secondaries in the league, coming off the most emotional win they've had in Cleveland in a few years.

I could see Cleveland traveling all the way across the country and coming in flat. This Raiders got screwed in their minds out of a win against Denver and can't wait to get back out on the field and earn their first win.

I expect R. Curry to produce solid numbers. I'd expect 80 yards plus and a TD at a minimum and wouldn't be surprised to see him closer to his week 1 totals.

It will be a GTD between Curry and Cotchery for me. Both in similar situations heading into the weekend not sure who there QB will be.

This is good Keerock here. I've got him in over Calvin Johnson in one league and am thinking about starting him over Santonio in another.

I like Donald Curry this week.. agreed
your avatar is trance inducing and hypnotic. why do i find myself staring at it for 3 minutes a time.....wish i knew who that was. But, yes, back to football, I like Curry this week as I said before.

Take it for what it's worth, but fantasty football today.com has Curry ranked as the top wideout for this week. :goodposting:

I'm also starting him over Lee Evans this week.

I agree as well, a no brainer start. I haven't seen the FBG rankings but there's no way there is 28 other guys I'm starting over Curry. :towelwave:

 I'm a bit nervous to start both Lamont and Curry, but I have them both in at the moment....with AJ out, I have been rotating between all combinations of Curry, Berrian, and Boldin all week...I guess whoever is in at kick-off will play.....I agree that his ranking was a bit odd.....

My decision is between Walker and Curry. I would like to get him in the lineup this week, but it will be hard to bench Walker.

giving him a shot over Fitzgerald. If he's the real deal that he's shown glimpes of, he should be ranked at least top 15.

I'm still deciding between Curry and Deion Branch against the Bengals. Right now I'm leaning towards Branch because I have more faith in Hasselbeck than McCown. Can anyone talk me out of this tree?

I'd go w/ Branch for the reason you stated...both he & Curry are facing crappy pass defenses; I'd go w/ the guy who has a good QB, and whose team is playing against a high-powered offense (Cincy).I am starting Curry b/c I have no choice; I still haven't drank the kool-aid, and all you ####s singing his praises just makes me nervous--bad mojo feelings...

curry over evans...

but i might land boldin in a trade... and cotch lit up b-more last week as the #2 WR, so i might start boldin instead of curry

I'm a Browns homer, and I'm starting Curry this week. If Bodden is on him then he might not explode, but Bodden was limited this week and he wasn't exactly on his game last week. More importantly, the Browns are struggling at safety (Pool has a concussion, Adams is also banged up) and are considering starting a corner at FS or maybe even Gary Baxter (the guy who tore both Patella tendons last year). The Browns will be very susceptible to the deep ball this week, and Curry will be the target. If McCown can put the ball out there I see Curry catching one big score this week.

I have him penciled in my line-up.

I need to decide between him and Welker and Reggie Brown vs a Detroit Secondary.

Right now I have

Driver

Brown

Curry

I could be swayed either way!

I'm really having a hard time deciding whether or not to start him in my flex spot. Wayne, Housh and Branch are my WRs, but I also have Cotchery, Caddy and Ahman Green who could all start as my flex. Is it possible to have too much depth?

It would be nice if this game was a high scoring game. What if the Raiders take an early lead? Why would they continue to pass the ball especially with a QB that is prone to throwing interceptions. Why would they not just grind the game out on the ground. Raiders D >>> Cinci D

I don't mean to HATE on the Curry parade.....Im just saying  thats how I see it going down.

 Believe it or not I picked up Curry after a owner dropped him a day before the first game of the season! He is healthy and I always thought he was better than Joey Porter. He was a QB in college so his is smart enough to read defenses quickly and is a hard worker. The only negative with him is Oakland"s uncertainy with the QB position. If would love to see him play on a team with a good QB like Farve that needs a good WR!

Campbell over Romo eh?
Yah, bad decision. The good news is Romo won't get benched by me again. The difference between the two this week is pretty signficant but to be honost, it wouldn't have made the difference. The owner I played against this week had McNabb and Curtis. I knew McNabb would have a big week but what those two did against me was ridiculous. All you can do is tip your hat and live to fight another day.

I was actually looking to pick him up last week and drop Jess Chatman after listening to Lammey and Bloom. But I wanted to see Chatman one more week. There is no way I'll be able to get him now. Oh well
