According to FBG's, Ronald Curry is no. 29 for the week.
On Sunday night, I was looking at some of the players on my squad and two players that didn't start for me in Week 2, I really was looking forward to starting in week 3. Those two players are QB Campbell who's got a quality matchup vs. the Giants while I bench Romo and WR Ronald Curry over Evans (and Crotchery who also has sat in a WR start 2 behind S. Smith and Evans).
Curry went up against the Lions in Week 1 and earned 10 receptions, 133 yards and 1 TD. It was a very impressive outing but of course we all know it was against the Lions who have a poor secondary.
In week 2, they faced the Denver Broncos in Denver. Denver just came off a game in Buffalo where Lee Evans had next to nothing. So, going into that game, many people felt that Curry would have a very difficult matchup.
Coming out of that matchup, the Raiders are coming home again and are facing the Cleveland Browns. The Browns gave up 45 points last week, zero of them rushing Td's and zero of them defensive or special teams. That means 6 TDs were of the passing variety.
Now, in no way shape or form is McCown, Palmer or is Curry, CJ. However, even if you take 50 percent of that monsterous total, you have 3 Td's.
You throw in that LaMont Jordan who's off to as good as start as anyone at RB is questionable because of his back, the Raiders will have to throw.
So, needless to say I was very surprised to see Curry so far down the list. I think Curry as he was week 1 is a solid play against one of the worst secondaries in the league, coming off the most emotional win they've had in Cleveland in a few years.
I could see Cleveland traveling all the way across the country and coming in flat. This Raiders got screwed in their minds out of a win against Denver and can't wait to get back out on the field and earn their first win.
I expect R. Curry to produce solid numbers. I'd expect 80 yards plus and a TD at a minimum and wouldn't be surprised to see him closer to his week 1 totals.
