If Baldwin wins this poll I have no faith in the results.... Anything higher than pick 7 is too early and I can think of 7 guys I'd pick before him.. I wouldn't look at him till pick 8, and then he'd be in a group of 4 other players I'd be deciding between...

Having pick 7 myself I am regretting Luck and Blackmons decision. And look to be stuck with baldwin Of course if he ends up in Indy or NE he may move up my ranking just a tad. Thes are great polls, and all. Just a liitle moot prior to combine, and then again after the draft. They so better not have a lock out. I am already ready for the 2011 season. Bring it.

I could be wrong, but I think you'd be in the minority on Baldwin. Going into these polls, I would've guessed a top 6 of:IngramGreenJonesLeshoureR WilliamsBaldwinTorrey Smith/Lewis, etc.So far, it seems to be playing out that way.

I have Lewis ahead of him, and I expect Gabbert or Newton, whichever lands in the best spot, to be picked ahead of him...

Unless it's a 2 QB league or if Baldwin botches the Combine/Proday, I'd be very surprised if Gabbert or Newtwon go ahead of him in rookie drafts (especially PPR leagues).

You must like Baldwins game... I think he has nice tools, but I don't think he has what it takes to be a #1 WR at the next level. What are his attributes? Size? he seems to get in his own way at times.. hardly uses it to his advantage..

Agreed. I'd take Baldwin over any QB in this draft. Hopefully Lewis can step up and claim a top 4 RB spot the same way I think T Smith will be a solid top 4 WR. That would help stretch out the first round a bit in fantasy drafts.

Without quoting stats, tell me what you like about Baldwin

Personally I love these pre-combine.Put me in the camp that players get over/under valued based on what they can do in their underwear.

I've looked at some of the actually results in the past and what I've found is that they actually do tend to be off............way off! So I started watching and participating for entertainment and to keep me busy until the combine and draft. There are certain individuals who have an eye for spotting talent but the board as a whole tends to be off a bit.

I disagree with this. My point of view in disagreeing is that, doing this now, we're doing it on the merits of the player/the player's talent/the player's maturity. After the combine and after the draft we're then adding in measureables (the combine) and the player's new team (after the draft).I sort of like the views people have solely of the player.

Baldwin = Reggie Williams
And I liked Reggie Williams coming in....I may be wrong, but I can't see anything special about Baldwins game... He has great measurables but seems like he has a hard time coordinating them.. He is pretty bad at running routes, slow, and doesn't look comfortable catching the ball. He prefers to catch the ball close to his body, I've seen him many times jump to catch a ball and catch it 6 inches in front of his chest... Maybe he'll learn, I just see a huge difference between him and the top 2, and I have a hard time separating him from everyone else in the draft, I'd dare say there are 3 other WR's I'd prefer to roster besides Green/Jones...

So we just do it again after the draft. That way you have two views on players, one based on talent, the other based on situation and talent.

The player I feel best about here is RB Dion Lewis, and WR Jonathan Baldwin is a close second, but at this point in the first round it is so hard to say.

I didn't intend for sarcasm from my original post. I do like these. I just weight the ones AFTER the draft with more reliable info. When we have measurables and situation accounted for. Not a complaint. Maybe "moot" was too harsh a word.

I don't think the value is in actually projecting who will go where in rookie drafts. I think these are great because you can see where people value players before they are on teams. Comparing these to the post-draft results are interesting. Maybe be a little nervous about the back that doesn't make the list, then shoots into the top 5 post-draft.

Man, I'm glad I have a top 3 and later picks in my leagues. 4-8ish seems a complete mess - but that will probably sort itself out by draft time.

I have 2,3,4 and figure I get Ingram, Jones and Leshoure with those picks (#1 wants Green). I don't see the 4th pick as a mess at all.

I think top 5 is dead set on AJ Green, Mark Ingram, Julio Jones, Mikel LeShoure, and Ryan Williams. However, next 3 or 4 picks would probably be Kendall Hunter, Jonathan Baldwin, Daniel Thomas, and Dion Lewis. Personally, I think Kendall Hunter is underrated RB.

Everything I have read about Dion Lewis suggests 3rd round at best. Most have him rated as the 10-15th best back. I think he is getting hype because of his name value, and don't think he will be anything close to a top 5 rookie pick.

he seems to be a FBG message board darling for some reason.I'd like to hear from those who are so high on him why they have him so much higher then the current "consensus" from other sources.

I like him, I don't have him top 5 as described in the previous post, but I've just recently moved him down, but he's still in my top 7-8 atm. He's a hard runner, has good balance, nice moves, has decent burst, great vision... He just runs with determination. If you've watched much of him, you'll probably admit, he makes up for his lack of size with determination, that's what I like the most about him. The kid wants it...

thanks. i haven't seen much of him at all, so was wondering what all the fuss was about.he just seems to be ranked pretty low (7-13) range of RB's when i looked at various scouting sites so was curious about him due to the divergence.

There's no doubt that Dion Lewis is much more highly touted on this site/forum than others. I'm guessing that most of it comes from EBF being so high on him on all of his various dynasty rookie lists and the rest of us simply being sheep...or the fact that this group is just smarter than most! For the sake of comparison, Lewis is unlisted (outside the top 10) in the ranking of RB's on Football's Future and he's currently RB15 on draftcountdown.com's recently updated rankings. Who's right...stay tuned!
