Rookie Auctions (1 Viewer)

I am commish of an auction league and we are currently holding our first rookie auction. This is the first auction league I have played in. Do most auction leagues hold a rookie auction, or rookie draft?

If you use an auction, how is that set up? What are some different strategies you have used, or seen?

Jeter,

I'm in two auction leagues but we have rookie drafts, not an auction each year. Startup auction 1st year and rookie draft each season. So I'm not sure how others do it.

A rookie draft works out great. You can have a Toilet Bowl bracket among the non-playoff teams and the winner gets the 1st pick in the rookie draft. It keeps every team fighting all year long.

In my longstanding hometown auction dynasty ($250 cap), we do a 3-rd rookie draft each year with a sliding scale starting at $10 for 1.01 and dropping $.50 for each pick thereafter. Once it gets down to $1, each pick after that is also $1. All undrafted rookies here then go into the FA auction which we hold right after that...
