Rookie Corner Rule (1 Viewer)

Looking at a few opportunities to take advantage of the rookie corner rule around the league.

Right now I'm aware of Brandon Boykin playing nickel duties at minimum, the team and observers seem to be very impressed. Still not enough production as a nickel CB to have value?

The other is Janoris Jenkins, starting CB opposite Finnegan in STL. Rookie corner rule in full effect here, right? Again, writers and team seem to be very impressed with his skills...

Any others, and opinions on the above 2?

 Good call on Jenkins. Was thinking the same thing. Probably the best situation of any rookie CB right now.

Morris Claiborne in Dallas playing opposite Brandon Carr. Maybe Stephon Gilmore in Buffalo?

I like Jenkins, a lot.

However, corners are very hard to predict, and unless it's a deep 16-team league, you probably can find better options.

Not quite the rookie corner rule, but I expect teams to pick on Keenan Lewis as a 1st year starter opposite Ike Taylor.

Good call S, its the same rule but doesn't necessarily have to apply to rookies. The OAK & PIT situations have young CB's who could be targets for QB's.I'll also second the Stephon Gilmore call. I think Josh Norman should be on the radar too

Jene's insight from the All-Request IDP thread:

I'm not high on any current rookie starter. Stephon Gilmore has the right profile, but I think Aaron Williams will be the better fantasy play. Janoris Jenkins fits the profile, but his run support capability is suspect, which makes me question his tackle upside. I like Dre Kirkpatrick, but his injury has put him well behind the curve. Morris Claiborne has some of the same issues Jenkins has. We may not see a rookie corner stud establish himself until a player deep on a depth chart moves up in midseason.

I ended up waiting at DB in one league and ended with 4 rookie corners on the roster. My favorite has been Janoris Jenkins. He has a very solid CB on the other side and he is very talented.

I meant the All-Request IDP Roundtable THREAD, it's in this same forum, not far from this thread...

Packers aren't announcing starters :hot: but if Hayward does start he's a ball hawk and could be good.

For the true rookie corner rule and not just the top stud rookies this year, I like Fleming and Norman.

Both seem to be playmakers who can tackle. Good enough to stay on the field (considering the options), but bad enough that they will be targeted constantly. I'm only rolling with them in deep dynasties for now, but if they come out racking up stats, I'm all over them.

I can get on board with Jenkins as well.
