Do those look right to people? Does anyone have any news on players being projected to play a different position?

Also, does anyone have any info on who's a WLB and who's a SLB in 4-3s?That applies to:Johnson, Derrick O. Texas 15 Kansas City  4-3 OLBMcCoy, Matt San Diego State 63 Philadelphia  4-3 OLBBlackstock, Darryl Virginia 95 Arizona  4-3 OLBHill, Leroy Clemson 98 Seattle  4-3 OLBPoppinga, Brady Brigham Young 125 Green Bay  4-3 OLBCole, Trent Cincinnati 146 Philadelphia  4-3 OLBHuckeba, Jeb Arkansas 159 Seattle  4-3 OLBBoley, Michael Southern Mississippi 160 Atlanta  4-3 OLBHagler, Tyjaun Cincinnati 173 Indianapolis  4-3 OLBNewberry, Jared Stanford 183 Washington  4-3 OLBWortham, Cornelius Alabama 235 Seattle  4-3 OLB

i think ware is going to be an OLB, and im hearing murmurs about pollack at OLB too.
Ware is listed as an OLB/DE, so in a 3-4 he'd fit at OLB more than DE - that makes sense. Pollack I haven't heard about - that would surprise me a bit. I know he's a bit undersized, but don't really see him as a 4-3 OLB.

Im guessing that Thomas Davis ends up at the Sam in Carolina
Actually, they are talking of him at WLB in Mark Fields spot. Threre is still uncertainty on his return. DEFENSE

Also... what about Lofa Tatupu from Southern Cal (5111, 238, 4.85)... Seattle traded up to get him in the 2nd round (2.13, #45 overall). I think he is a year away from making an impact, but he could supplant Niko...

Hmm - Ourlads shows:SLB 53 Short Brandon U/NYG | 57 Tufts Sean 04/6 | 00 Smith Justin F05

MLB 55 Morgan Dan 01/1 | 00 Draft Chris F05* | 50 Ciurciu Vinny F03

WLB 54 Witherspoon Will 02/3 R/1^ | 59 Knight Bryan F05

That's from before the draft, obviously... but are you saying that Witherspoon is moving to SLB? That would hose a lot of people who picked him quite early in dynasty startups this offseason.

Here are the exceptions from your list. Of course, this is all speculation at this point.Pollack, David - will play SLB in the 4-3Blackstock, Darryl - I think there is a good chance you will see him at DE too.Davis, Thomas - will play WLB in the 4-3

I think that Witherspoon stays as the WLB and Davis is the SLB. Witherspoon doesn't have the physical style that Davis does. At this point it is all a guess anyway. Davis will be on the field whether it is at LB or DB. I read something that if Fields does come back then Davis could be the SS moving Minter to FS.

There is an article out saying that he is going to play OLB for Cincy and is going to drop some weight down to 250.

Updated to add ILBs and change a few positions based on what I've read in the past couple of days.

thanks for the list :goodposting: and it typical FBG (ask for more) fashion : what is the chance to put who is starting on the list? That way all the info is in 1 thread

Looks like they have made a preliminary spot for him to play.... Thomas Davis will play Strong Safety.
No. 1 pick will start camp at strong safety

By Darin Gantt The Herald

(Published April 27‚ 2005)

CHARLOTTE -- Carolina Panthers coach John Fox cleared up part of the mystery surrounding first-round pick Thomas Davis on Tuesday.

But it remains to be seen how his announcement that Davis will begin this weekend's minicamp at strong safety will affect the rest of the roster.

During an appearance on WFNZ’s “PrimeTime with the Packman,” Fox said his first-round pick would work with the second team at strong safety, receiving roughly the same number of snaps as incumbent starter Mike Minter.

"We want to see him at safety first," Fox said of Davis, who was recruited to Georgia as a linebacker but ended up in the secondary when injuries left the Bulldogs short there. When asked if that changed Minter's role, Fox said it didn't now, but said if the decision was made to leave Davis at strong safety "we'd have to make some adjustments."

Minter's entering the final year of his contract, and carries a $5.9 million salary cap number into the season.

Roth, Matt Iowa 46 Miami  4-3 DE -- Given his size, I bet he ends up at OLB in the 3-4

Cody, Dan Oklahoma 53 Baltimore  4-3 DE -- Another possibility at OLB, but haven't heard anything, just speculation

Huckeba, Jeb Arkansas 159 Seattle  4-3 DE -- another OLB conversion

Goddard, Jonathan Marshall 206 Detroit  4-3 OLB/DE

Riddle, Ryan California 212 Oakland  4-3 DE --- Should end up a LB

Pollack, David Georgia 17 Cincinnati  4-3 SLBPoppinga, Brady Brigham Young 125 Green Bay  4-3 OLB ---- Much more of a DE from seeing him play
Just a couple notes on who I think shoulc/could be moving positions.Lots of DE tweeners this year.

Miami's tough to peg. I have no idea whether they're going to play a 3-4 or 4-3, and guys will shift between positions based on the scheme. I wouldn't be surprised to see them shift situationally, but I expect them to use primarily 4-3 so they can get Taylor on the field in his best position.

Yo, Tick.

Just dropped a post on the rookie LB thread re: MFL and there roll in identifying the draft designation of DE's and LB's.

They (MFL) follow the lead of each NFL team....identifying players for purpose of FFB draft by position based on what the team designates.

It looks to me that until MFL reflects the team's accurate designation....it's anybodies guess.
