This doesn't so much apply to the first round of rookie drafts where the top talent is more clearly divided but to the second round and beyond where tiers and rankings start to get a bit cloudy.
When preparing for a rookie draft it's inevitable you'll have guys that you really want to end up with within each tier regardless of rankings. If one of these guys is there when you are picking but would be a bit of a reach at that pick do you pick him (knowing that he'd probably be gone by the time you pick again) or do you stay true to your rankings and pick the BPA on your list?
I know that that last paragraph wasn't explained very well but I hope you understand what I mean. I've got my preliminary list of rankings but there are definately guys further down on that list that I really want. Is it wrong to take them a bit higher than I've ranked them to guarantee I ge them.
At the end of the day if e.g. Andre Roberts ends up being the next Greg Jennings is taking him with the 2.01 really that big of a deal?
For the purposes of this I'm assuming that trading down isn't really possible as there are no decent offers.
