Rookie of the Year? (2 Viewers)

I had a feeling someone on here was going to post about Royals chance to be the ROY.

It's not going to happen. As soon as Marshall is back it will be him that Cutler looks for. Royals flame will die down.

None of the above.

Felix Jones wont touch enough to win ROY.

Royal maybe but unlikely for the reasons Mr. Peterson spoke of.

C. Johnson? I guess thats possible too.

I think youd have to throw Forte for sure in there at this point and also Matt Ryan and Desean Jackson.

But yea , its week 1. If I had to pick now my money would be on Matt Ryan/Forte/ or Jonathan Stewart. Yea Im throwing Jstew in. By seasons end I expect him to do very well still. But id have to think QB would get first votes if deserving, followed by a few good RB who could all have a shot, wr probably coming in last just based on how voters might vote.

CJ3, Forte, DeSean, or Royal

with the bias for QBs getting Ryan/Flacco a chance too if either of their teams surprise

early guess is CJ3 because his team will be the best of the above especially if Collins at QB for a large piece of the season

I look for Kerry Collins to keep that job if he perfoms up to expectations. I'm not ready to blame their WRs for lack of production. Part, maybe most of the blame lies with VY, IMO.

The best odds should be for CJ3 or maybe Felix. Both will get even more involved in their offense than they were in week 1.

After week 1 I'd say it's a 3 way shot between Royal, Jackson, and Forte. Have to figure in over all value to team and Jackson is in there on returns right off.

Though I have not seen Chris yet. He cant be far behind. 16 weeks to go but them are the 4 front runners. I can;t ever recall such a deep rookie class makeing so much immediate impact. Rice, 2 starting qbs right off. 9 rb;s in top 40 first week.

That's almost 25% of rb production being rookies and I am sure Torain would have been in that top 40 also. My scoreing system shows overall RB value better then any had Forte 4th best back this week. Johnson 9th best. Smith 12th best. Then drops to Rice 22 best rb play this week. With Felix and Hightower 26th and 27th! Slaton 31st.

McFadden 39th, and Stewart 43rd. Mendenhall is missing! As is Torain of coarse.

That is something seeing so many rookies make so much impact right off!

And the number one receiver for the week is a rookie too.

At this point and time I'd say Chris Johnson. He's got talent, opportunity, a coach that apparently loves him and LOVES to run the ball but it's still waaaaaaaaaay to early since so many things change....

All those Royal votes, you have to consider that B. Marshall is going to come back and he's the man on that offense. Royal played very well filling in but there's a big reason to think that his role will change substantially.

I think it's between Chris and DeSean.

Eddie will catch about 55 balls given the pending presence of Brandon and the crop of TEs and RBs.

DeSean may catch 70 balls.

Felix needs Barber to stay injured to get more than 150 touches.

Johnson looks like he may get over 200 touches.

Between the two "semi-finalists" Chris has less competitive offensive weopons on his team, so I given him the nod.

Nowhere to be seen on this list is "Run DMC". His advocates have destroyed his potential by giving him a lame nickname.

ETA: If the Bears D can stay healthy this year (I dont think they can), Forte will push CJ for the title.

Mt guess is Matt Ryan or Joe Flacco - it's a QBs league. Both looked good.

Forte, Johnson, and Jones looked good running the ball. Any one of them could win it, depending on how much work they get, and whether their team keeps winning or not.

DeSean Jackson and Eddie Royal were impressive at WR... but they rarely seem to win it (going by memory) when there is a good rookie at another offensive skill position.
