Rookie WR's (1 Viewer)

Ginn is one of the most exciting offensive prospects in the draft. His playing speed is unreal. The only issue I have with him is whether he's ever going to be a well-rounded WR. He looks better than Williamson did, but I would've like to have seen him demonstrate the ability to go up and make tough catches in a crowd.

I think he'll contribute in the NFL, but I'm not sure if he'll ever be more than a Lelie or Stallworth type.

I think Steve Smith might be one of the top three fromt his class. He mixes very well with Plax and is that proto small WR now with wheels.I like him.
I am not so high on Smith. I do like him alot and love his skills. he is going to have a tough time getting the #3 WR slot. Plax and Toomer are the starters, not to mention their 2nd rd pick last year that runs a 4.40 40 Sinorice Moss. I think Smith can potentially win the job, but I think putting him too high too soon is a risk. Granted, Toomer is not a long term option for the G-men, but I think the jury is still out on Moss. If he comes back from the injury he had last year, this offense just became scary.

Being injury-filled, Moss' rookie season was one to forget to say the least. For mine, he could be a bust WR (in regards to his draft position, although no doubt it would have been lower in this years' bumper WR class), but I think he'll be a good kick returner - which seems to be the chic thing for teams to have these days anyway. Although I guess it did take his brother until the 3rd year to hit his strides as a WR.On the other hand, Smith is 3 inches taller and ran a not-too-poor 4.44 40 at the combine. As you mentioned, Toomer is getting long in the tooth, turning 33 just after the season starts and missed the second half of '06. I'm not thinking about Smith vying for the #3 WR slot, I see him aiming to be the #2 by season's end. It's not really putting him too high too soon; more a winner due to circumstance/situation in my eyes.

One thing's for sure - without Tiki there should be a few more passes to share around the WR's.
