Roscoe Parrish starting WR in Buffalo ? (1 Viewer)

I think there are a couple of guys who have been to Bills camp...might want to check with them to see if this is the case. Depth charts online are really dicey this time of year and more can be learned from what camp reprots are saying.

WR2 there is a total mess. It could Parrish, Reed, Price, ADavis, maybe even that return specialist whose name I can't remember.

I wouldn't count on whoever wins the position being useful for FF, though.

It's kind of like digging through the kids' Halloween candy on November 5th. There are a bunch of tootsie rolls there and a Three Musketeers bar. You take the Three Musketeers bar not because it is good or you even like it, but just because it is the best thing left!

Well, let's see what's in the Bills' RB2 bag of goodies..."Runts" Parrish, "Slo Pokes" Reed, "Butterfinger" Price, "Brittle" Davis.

Hmm, no Life Savers there.

Well, how about a Look at "Zero" Aiken, "Drops" Smith, or rookie "Big Hunk" Nance?

Meh, those guys are Duds too.

Conclusion? OC Fairchild may have learned from Mike Martz and coached Isaac Bruce, but Mike and Ike didn't come with him. It's gonna be a Rocky Road in Buffalo this year, but at least this bunch will be worth a few snickers and chuckles.

Sweet :P

In early practices, I believe these were the WR pairings

1st team: Lee Evans and Josh Reed

2nd team: Peerless Price and Sam Aiken

3rd team: Andre Davis and Roscoe Parrish

4th team: Johnathan Smith and George Wilson

5th team: Martin Nance and Chris Denney

Roscoe is not big enough to be a starting WR, IMO. He will compete for the #3 job and most likely see time in 3 and 4-WR formations while also contributing as a punt returner.

I'd say it is more like being at the bottom of the bag and having to choose between an Almond Joy and the toothbrush from the health freak's house...

Parrish makes sense as the #2. With those QBs, they will need to find the fastest guys they can in hopes they will be able to run down the overthrown balls and come back quickly for the lame ducks.

First of all, Almond Joys are awesome.Secondly, while the #2-5 WRs may not be top 5 WRs or anything like that, but they all have a lot of talent. None of them have really shown it consistently, but perhaps being in a passing game that emphasizes the vertical game and being in a situation where they'll have to fight for the #2 position will force someone to rise to the top.

I fully believe that Losman will win the starting job and will have a decent year with his WRs. Losman is suited well to a vertical passing game. He has a great arm and is more accurate deep than he is short. With all of the tremendous speed that the Bills have at WR, there could be a LOT of big plays in the passing game if Losman is at the helm.

Buffalo is one of the few teams with their depth chart up right now ...

it does in fact show that Reed has passed Price ...

Parrish is no where near starter ...

Bills Official Depth Chart

Stay far away from NFL.com depth charts ... especially pre-season ...

Any change of opinion after yesterday's performance by Roscoe ?
I was in need of a WR and picked up Roscoe in two leagues, so I like him. I think the Bills are looking better than expected. I think Parrish did a nice job this past weekend. I dont think he's too small to be an nfl wr if you consider that he is 5'9 168. Steve Smith is 5'9 185. Im not calling him Steve Smith. Im just saying he's not too small. He does need to put on a little weight though. But he seems talented.

:homer:

Josh Reed is and will be the No.2.

He is to valuable in the run game (his blocking) to be replaced in the starting lineup by any of the others.

Price has been a disappointment so far, but Reed/Parrish both look pretty good. I'm still not sure either is a good fit as a starting WR though. Reed b/c he lacks speed and Parrish b/c he's so small.

I absolutely hate Reed. I think Price has done well, until this past week the Bills averaged 20 passing attempts. He did have one play before this past week that really stuck out to me against the Pats. It was a short throw and Price made it past the first down marker on 3rd down to put together a drive late in the 4th quarter. But a block in the back brings it back. He seems to come through when they really need him. Or maybe that's just the illusion i get.
