Looking to see the Cubs for a couple games (Yes, I know that they haven't locked anything up  ).

How are the matchups shaping up at the moment? Only thing I recall is that the Division winner can't play the WC if in their same division (even that I may be incorrect about)

If the Cubs win the Central, which appears likely, they will be the 3 seed (in essence) and play the 2 seed, unless the wild card comes from the same division as the 1 seed. The Cubs would then play the 1 seed in the first round, and the 2 seed would play the wild card.

Trying to figure out what teams it will be is too much of a cluster-you-know-what right now. Just wait until Sunday night, and then see how it played out.

What he said.

Mets and Phillies are tied and both could win the divion or the wildcard.

Cubs are up by 2 games over the Brewers but neither can be the wildcard.

Dbacks have a 1 game lead over the Pads and 2 games over the Rockies. Any of those three could wint the division or the wildcard.

Padres lead the WC race by 1 game over the Mets/Phillies and Rockies.

Here's a LINK to all the crazy tie scenarios.

If the Mets, Phils, and Rockies win and SD loses, there will be 4 teams tied with the same record.
Yea this all confuses me, I guess I am use to football but why don't season record vs teams count towards the tie breaker? If the Mets and Phillies tie, they go to a tiebreaker game Monday...how come that season record vs each other doesn't come into play? Hell it doesnt even come into play on where they will play the game ( a coin flip )

IIRC, tiebreakers only come into play for things like seeding/deciding home field advantage or if there is a tie and both teams make the playoffs (where one would be the division winner and the other the WC winner).
