Hard to say how that hamstring injury has affected Jones. It's kept him out a while, but it's cost him important time on the field gaining chemistry with Ryan.

It's very close but I'd lean Julio Jones. Both have question marks, but Jones talent is IMO better and has already worked with his QB. My take against Bey is that it remains to be seen which WRs click with Palmer.

If Julio is back after the bye, Id rather have Julio.

Either way, I still think either Julio or DHB are better than Roy Williams

I prefer Julio's talent...but Heyward-Bey has an easier schedule and is healthy. Ball skills go to Julio, but Matt Ryan's deep ball is horrible. Can't really comment on Palmer's deep ball, I've avoided Bengals games over the years.

Meh ... even in that PI$$ POOR debacle last week vs. KC, DHB came away with 6/89. Read a blutb on CBS that Palmer was praising him as well. The clusterfudge that was there earlier for WR#1 seems to be pretty cleared up as of now.Expect DHB/Palmer to have a decent second half ... the bye could not have come at a better time for Oakland.

Was pretty obvious the OP was talking about "rest of the year", regardless what you think the abbreviation should or shouldn't be. There sure are a lot of arrogant idiots around here lately.

Here's a few real winners in this thread:

Ummm... Heyward bey isn't a rookie. Welcome to the Shark Tank.
Ummm.. It's the Shark Pool. Welcome to it, yourself. You ought to familiarize yourself with the place before greeting folks at the door.
ROY = rest of the year

fantasy pts wise.

got it?
condescending??

LOL
Seriously? The first 4 responses were flames made by fools with the reading comprehension of kindergarteners. He responds in kind, and you go after him?As to the original question, if both remain healthy, I feel better about Julio moving forward. The Raiders just swapped QB's midseason and we really don't yet know what to expect from the passing game moving forward. I'd say 70% chance that Julio puts up more points than DHB ROtY.

From the grammar in his thread title, I thought he was asking about Roy Williams, Jones, or DHB. The correct punctuation would have been "ROY: Jones or Bey". Not to be the grammar police, but I was surprised to only see two players' schedules listed.Either way, isn't this an AC post? Hmm, guess I'm trying to be the board police!

Let's say that DHB finishes with more points total, but it comes in spurts. Palmer has an arsenal of young wr ' s, none of which will be reliable weekly starters. IMO. Sell high.

JJ will put up more consistent numbers. His floor is lower. If atl gets the pass attack clicking white and Jones will get major upgrades, from what thus far is a disappointment. Both buy low canidates.

Welcome to the boards sparty. Familiarize yourself, and maybe this belongs in the assistant coach forum.

I think upon reading that, most people would assume he meant Rookie of the Year. ROY is a much more common acronym for Rookie of the Year not Rest of Year.

a tip for future, when you want to compare two players for their potential now through the remainder of the season most people know this as ROW or Rest Of the Way.

I think its an unknown re; heyward bey bc of palmer. It all really depends on how quickly palmer learns the offense and which WR he latches onto. As we see with many qb changes, a WR who has been successful with one qb isn't necessarily successful with another.

Examples:

S. Rice was productive with TJax. Whitehurst prefers Baldwin..and sucking.

P. Harvin is productive with Ponder. McNabb preferred...i dont even know he just sucked.

Collins preferred reggie wayne over garcon. Input painter and garcon starts lighting it up.

It's anyone's guess who palmer favors once he gets going. Last year he neglected ocho cinco and made TO fantasy relevant...WAY more than people expected. He definitely has a penchant to lock in on a WR.

If I had to guess it would be DHB or Moore.

I like DHB's prospects better than Julio Jones though simply on the fact that DHB is a 3rd yr player and more assimilated to the NFL. He is also the #1 wr on oakland and jones plays second fiddle to roddy.

I actually saw this topic before anyone else answered. Didn't bother to respond, but...My first thought: ROY?? That means Rookie Of the Year. My second thought: This belongs in the Asst Coach forum. That was the 'obvious' which struck me. :coffee:

\... make that third fiddle ... to Roddy/Gonzo.And I'd much rather take a chance on a guy competing with the likes of Ford/Moore/Murphy/Schilenz/Hagan/Boss, than one competing with Roddy/Gonzo, who are much more formidable as a twosome than the rest of Oakland's options combined.

 In answer to this AC question--that's my take as well. I jumped in here for confirmation since I'd picked up DHB over someone unmentioned (still available in my league) in hopes that Palmer keys in on him. He's a WR3 after all...
