His numbers are off this year and are only getting worse. I wouldn't count on him for anything this year, 2008 and on who knows.But something isn't right with him.

interesting - thanks! just changed my offer to have the owner add MAtsui and Posada to the mix with Oswalt if he wants Valverde and Markakis (two decent keepers)is he hurt? Whats his deal?

Nah........he's not hurt at all. His control has gone to the wayside this year. Is he still an elite SP? His #s don't show it right now, but I'd have to say YES - HE'S A BONA FIDE STUD. The problem with playing for the Astros is that he'll lack the Ws. The offense is giving the Wiz of Oz the "Roger Clemens" treatment. When the #1 SP is on the mound, they can't score more than 2 or 3 runs for him, while he gives up 3 or 4 - just enough to lose.

I get Oswalt, Posada (dying for a catcher) and Fracouer

I send him Valverde, Markakis and Ross

Valv and Markakis are solid keepers - all 3 guys I am getting are FAs

Leaning towards taking it - thoughts?

I traded Abreu for him earlier this year. Haven't liked what I saw, so just moved Oswalt, Matsui, and Carmona for Beltran, Chipper, and P. Hughes in a keeper

I'll be honest, I was shocked when he accepted. That was only supposed to be an offer to get things started as I never thought he would take it. Reasoning when I sent it went like this:

Chipper and H. Matsui are about even in points and I need a 3B.

I give you Oswalt for Beltran, just about a wash points wise (even though Beltran has struggled....I didn't say that though)

You need pitching now, I'll give you Carmona 10 games winner, for the future in HUghes, how bout it?
