Rudi Johnson going forward (1 Viewer)

Ok, so he had only 4 carries for 8 yards. Not exactly what we were looking for in his first game back from the hammy injury. The question is, how concerned should we be about Kenny Watson continuing to take carries away from him from here on out?

Is this the kind of situation where Marvin Lewis will *gradually* give Rudi more and more carries each week while continuing to use Watson quite often?

Will Rudi ever return to top 12 RB status this year or is this hammy the kind of injury that will ruin his season?

Frankly, I'm not just worried about Watson, but also the fact that the Bengals defense is bad and the offense might be forced to air it out even more than in recent years.

Can anyone offer any words of encouragement?

I'm worried about the hammy, not Watson. I don't think Watson is anything special and I don't think he's as talented as Rudi. So if Rudi's healthy, I'm not worried about Watson doing anything more than spelling him occasionally and getting third-down action.

But whether Rudi can get healthy is the question. He clearly isn't 100% yet which is why he barely played yesterday. So he had two weeks to recover and hasn't recovered yet. To me, that's the big concern here. Will he be able to recover anytime soon?

you know what FBG's needs more of around here is friends and family members of players hanging around the boards and giving us inside information.

I'd love to know how Rudi himself truly feels about the state of his hamstring.

How about Chris Perry being a threat? He can come off the IR this week, right? What kind of timeframe would we be talking about before he'd be in game shape?

I was at the game yesterday. Rudi wasn't in the first series. When he came in for the second series, they were coming back from a TV timeout. Rudi spent a lot of time stretching, and appeared to be be concerned with it. I think they wanted it to be a bit better, but is still lingering....

so Rudi owners, do you feel this is a situation where we should consider benching him (let's say for weaker caliber guys like Deshawn Wynn, Ernest Graham, or Julius Jones) until he has a good game?

I'm doing everything in my power to trade both Rudi & Watson as a package deal. I have owned Rudi since day 1 in my Dynasty league(4yrs) and it's time to sell.

Or, to take it even farther, are Rudi owners (in redraft leagues) considering cutting him to make room on their roster for healthier (though probably not better) players?

I agree. He ran well on his first two carries (11 yards), then got stuffed on the next two. There was zero balance to the Bengals' offense but I'm not sure Rudi would've been more involved if they had given more attention to the running game. When they announced him as the backup that led me to believe he was only going to be there for a few carries and that's it.

I'm in a league with very tight roster limits and I've given no thought at this time of dropping Rudi. I want to get more info on his injury and give him more time to try and recover before I pull the trigger on a move like that.
