RUMOR: Vilma out for the season with a knee injury (1 Viewer)

20 solos.. 4 assists as well as signed vilma's release.
Correction... "Vilma's trade"
 lets hope his value hasnt taken too big of a hit with the injury and 2 years as a 3-4 ILB
Actually, let's hope it DOES so we can buy low. :goodposting:
yeah, he would be a good fit with the Lions
I heard rumors last year of the Lions looking into trading for him during last years draft. I would love to see him playing MLB in the Tampa-2 defense next to Ernie Sims. He is a great LB, just in the wrong system. He would be a beast in this defense, much like he was in NY when he played MLB before Mangini brought the 3-4 defense there.

Jene & others -- do you think there is any meaningful chance that Vilma returns to the Jets next year?
I am only speculating, but I would say the chances are slim to none. His contract expires after the 2008 season, he doesn't fit their defense and it doesn't seem to be a secret that he wants out of there. They can at least get something from him after this season instead of losing him as a free agent after next year.

If the recovery period is over a year long the Jets may be hard pressed to get anything for him. I think there is a good chance he may be released
