@jwyattsports

Just talked to LB Barrett Ruud. He said he has agreed to a 1-year deal with the #Titans

Ruud said the #Titans told him he'd play MLB. “I'm going to come in and learn (DC) Jerry Gray’s system and just roll with it,'' he said.

His addition pretty much signals the end in TN for LB Stephen Tulloch it seems. Ruud is a MLB and that's where the #Titans plan to play him

What I'm WAY more interested in is now that Ruud is out of the picture, does this make Mason Foster a really great IDP rookie pick now? I have read where Foster will have to compete with McKenzie. Will he even be a factor this year, or can I assume that Foster is about to become a IDP beast? My draft is coming up in a few days and I have to make a rather rash decision whether to jump at the chance to add Foster to my team, or go another direction. If I pass early, he's gone, I know that for sure. I only have one chance at him, but adding future stud/depth at LB is just as important as adding Ingram/Julio/AJ as a bench player to my team.Jene, is Foster a lock at the 3 down stud TB MLB spot, or is there a chance that they still sign some old veteran or give the job to somebody on the roster due to experience (like Lenon in Arizona last year)?

No possible way to assume Foster owns this role yet.McKenzie is a talented player and has really taken a leadership role over the lock out. He's running as the #1 Mike right now.It's early, but this is a real competition. I don't think I'd pass on Foster, but I certainly wouldn't draft him as if he's a sure fire contributor this year.

Ruud will play his ### off since he was only signed to a one year trial contract!! Smart move to motivate a player to produce!! Prediction:

100 solo 30 assist 2 sacks 1 int.

Curious about the implications of the 1 year contract for the Titan's MLB spot next season. This has to be a good sign for McRath in 2012. If they didn't feel the future MLB was on the roster, seems to me they would have signed Ruud to a longer deal, since the market for his services was clearly fading? Thoughts?

If it's good for anyone, it's Colin McCarthy...at least long-term. It seems that they didn't want to start a rookie at MLB. I don't think Ruud had enough leverage or suitors to get more than 1 year.
