Ryan Braun MIL 3B (1 Viewer)

He's got to be close to getting enough at bats to qualify for the batting title. How many does he need to be up to?
3.1*the number of games played. He'll be close by the end of the season, but is nowhere close now.
Yea pence didnt become official till a week or so ago....then he went in the ####ter
Here are the basics (looks like 502 ABs to qualify and no way Braun gets there):Projected Totals - Projected Totals - Player Team AVG AB R H HR RBI BB SO SB CS OBP SLG OPSR. Braun MIL 0.346 450 94 156 34 92 36 107 17 4 0.395 0.664 1.058H. Pence HOU 0.330 568 77 188 22 82 20 109 15 7 0.353 0.564 0.917I didn't account for the time Pence will spend on the DL, but Braun will beat Pence in every category, but fall short by 52 at bats to qualify for the batting title. There is no way this guy doesn't win the NL ROY if he doesn't get a significant injury.Admittedly my projections are a little flawed by just straightlining the projections, but they are close enough for this discussion.

I can't believe how good this guy is already. You know, how often do you see a guy bat 3rd in the lineup in his very first game, especially with their lineup. I just wish I could have picked him up in both of my leagues.

i believe it is plate appearances not AB. so any sacrifices, walks, etc count towards this number. you can miss quite a few games and still get there.

If it is PAs, then he will get there. He is projected 50 short - not including walks, sacs, etc. Add those in and he will qualify (it will be very close).

it would really be a shame to see him not win the title because of yost's stupidity

2-4 tonight

Had a baserunning mistake, but looked good.

I would like to see them get his swing a little tighter, but I have never been a big fan of when they hold the bat high to start, then of course immediately bring it down, seems like a wasted movement to me and very very few of the great hitters had swings that started high.

It's funny how when they get thrown out it's a "baserunning mistake" but when they make it it's "great hustle". Personally I think the guy was just trying to get into scoring position with two outs. I'd go with good hustle over baserunning mistake on that particular play.

It wasnt a great throw and he was out by a ton. When the guy can catch the ball and sit there waiting for you, thats a mistake, always. Anyway 2-4 today with another homer. Really like watching this kid.

Yeah but he's really starting to piss me off. He starts out like 2-2 or 3-3 and then gets out his last couple of at bats to finish 2-4 or 3-5. The bum!

I couldnt agree more, i mean what a late inning choker. Hopefully they trade him soon.

costly error(although it may have not been ruled that way) really let his team down He just flat out missed the ball. Had he at least stopped the ball only one run would have scored and the next batter flied out.

he was 2-6 though and just missed a homer/double on a nice catch by the phillies outfielder(name escapes me) one foot higher and it was gone.

If the outfileder (I believe it was A. Rowand) jumped one foot shorter it was gone. Braun came up big for me as I ended up winning HRs and RBI each by one this week. He kept me in 1st by half a game. I actually own 4 Brewers (Braun, Hart, Hall, Estrada) and usually end up starting 3 of them most weeks. Sure is tough owning 4 Brewers and being a Cubs fan. I have to hope the Brew lose 12-10 every night.

Any questions? He is a mortal lock to win NL ROY.
Yes. What round will he be drafted in next year? Can't get past the fourth, right?
Who cares? - I have him for the rest of his career in a KEEPER League! :blackdot:Seriously, there is a ton of talent at 3B, (A-rod, Wright, Cabrera, Braun,)but the way this kid is going I see no way he goes later than the 4th, likely 3rd round selection!

Well at 3B, I would probably take A-Rod and Cabrera before him - but I would take Braun over Wright. So probably a good chance in a redraft that he goes in one of the first three rounds...especially since 3B isn't nearly as deep as 1B or OF.Think about it. At 2B, Utley goes before him. At SS, Reyes goes before him. A hanful of 1B and OF go before him. Maybe a few top line pitchers. That's it.

He has been the best hitter in baseball since he has been called up. He should be considered for MVP if the Brewers make it to the playoffs.

If I had a vote, I would put him in the top 10 for MVP. He has a lot of big HRs & RBIs. He just needs to improve his defense.

Braun's grandfather has been living for over 40 years in a home that previously belonged to Jewish Hall of Fame outfielder Hank Greenberg.

Interesting tidbit.
