Both are available and I was wondering who you guys like the most between these two guys if they both win their respective jobs. Does Clark have the ability to hold off the competition? Can Sean hold off Brodney Pool...?

What are these two guys prospects redraft and dynasty wise?

Methinks Jones is the better athlete. I don't think he beats out Pool however I could see Cleveland inserting him as the starter in the other safety slot. Currently, Jones is in the bubble on my roster but even if I cut him I'll be watching closely to see how he fares.

I like Jones better of the two options.

When in doubt, go with better talent unless the scheme/opportunity is so good that talent isn't a major issue. Ryan Clark will do very well to match Chris Hope's numbers from 2005 and the Steelers didn't spend a third rounder on Anthony Smith for long term depth. Jones has much higher upside, even in redraft leagues.

And Jones is in competition with a solid Brodney Pool and veteran Brian Russell. He's not a lock to start from Week 1. Also, while I haven't looked at the projections, there's probably not much difference in the projected raw fantasy points between the two.

That was a pretty good impression JB Clark may be just keeping the seat warm for Smith but the Steelers scheme is very complex. Heck Polamalu didn't even start until year 2. I believe Clark is actually a better player than Hope and should a least put up similar numbers. I also believe the Steelers are a little suspect at ILB with Larry Foote as a starter. I'm not particularly high on Clark nor do I see him as a long term prospect (at least not in Pittsburgh) but he has the tools and situation to produce mid 20s numbers. I have Jones at 36 because he is currently leading the battle at SS on a Cleveland club that is still in the rebuilding process. The position has a great deal of potential and I would have him higher if he were more certain to claim the job. I have also mentioned before that I would not be surprised to see the runner up at SS become the starter at FS since Russell has impressed no one. I believe Pool to be a better option at FS than Jones.

how does this guy look with the 1st team defense?is he a hitter, playmaker, ballhawk, run stopper? how would you describe him?good speed? good in coverage? or mostly used for run support?any info would be greatly appreciated

honestly haven't seen much of either. pool was a rookie, jones tore his acl. this preseason, looks like jones is the more cerebral and real "football" player, whereas pool is more athletic, but undisciplined and all over the place, sometimes making big plays, sometimes making big mistakes. jones is covering better than pool. jones is tackling better then pool. but pool definately has the bigger excitement factor.

if your talking redraft, then i'd avoid this situation as i think it will be a full on rotation with russell. if i had to pick one, i'd take jones, could see him taking on the rodney harrison intimidator role. in dynasty, i would take them both.

Cowher also designated Ryan Clark as the starting free safety ahead of Tyrone Carter and rookie Anthony Smith. Clark, formerly with the Redskins, was the Steelers' only major offseason pickup. He signed as a free agent after Chris Hope left to play for Tennessee.
