Grant will have room to run with Favre throwing the ball to Driver, Jennings, & Jones, Young will see 8+ in the box with Cutler and no Walker. Disclaimer Walker always states he be ready next week to play, but seems to always be just not ready to play at game time, thus no faith in him being back early

i think people are looking into Grant's performance agains the Broncos a bit much. The broncos do have the worst run D in the league.

I for one voted Grant because Henry is still around at the current time - who knows how much time he'll really end up missing with the case. Grant has the opportunity right now.

Grant, only bc Henry's suspension is still a few weeks away it seems.
I don't know about that....Henry has a court date on Monday
"ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reports Travis Henry is expected to play Monday night against the Packers, and that the running back is several weeks away from hearing about a potential one-year suspension.Impact: Paolantonio says the NFL will likely take four more weeks before deciding whether to suspend Henry. For tonight, the inactives will be posted about an hour prior to game time. Henry is taking a painkilling injection to play and may struggle to finish, but we'd use him over Selvin Young if he starts DeShawn Wynn is the best fantasy play in the game based on matchups and health."Of course, grain of salt, but......

 considering in the same report that he talks about 4 weeks.....he says Henry was expected to play Monday night. And I have no idea what he is talking about several weeks away from a hearing....it has definitely been reported that a hearing will take place Monday

I believe this Henry crap will be dragged out and Young will not be a viable starter this year. That said, Grant will be the better of the two options.

Mort had a report last night which contradicted Paolantonio's report. He said the Week 9 game against the Lions could be the last one Henry plays this season. Assuming Henry is physically able to play, of course.

Either way, given the uncertainty and that Young's value is tied to Henry's fate, I would gamble on Grant right now until more information is available. Speculating one way or the other with Young is riskier. If picking the right guy really matters to you, I'm guessing it's because you need him now and that answer is Grant. He also has some very favorable matchups coming up.

Its no contest. The Denver offense line if far far superior to the Packers in run blocking. Henry has be captured, tried, and found guilty by Good All.

I'd take the Packers on passing downs though.

Since my sad running game now depends on both of these guys, I hope it's a horse race between "great" and "awesome." I do think one of them will help fantasy teams make the playoffs, but I'm not sure which one yet.

Young's performance was impressive because the Packers have a great D. Denver's D is awful, but Green Bay couldn't run previously. So Grant did look good. I also liked that the Packers weren't afraid to feed him the ball. Once he showed something and Wynn got hurt...they went with it.

I think Grant has an advantage because the Packers are a likely playoff team and they see the potential for a special season. It would make sense to get him "battle-ready" over the rest of the season so he sees a lot of defenses and packages. That way he could be a real factor in the playoffs. Give Green Bay a running game, and they could compete with anyone in the NFC.

If the Broncos see Henry as a lost cause (suspension-wise) it would make sense to utilize Young. Like replacing Plummer last year, Shanahan has the job security to make decisions with the future in mind. If they're convinced Henry won't play in 2008, why not get Young ready for the job? If they think Cutler/Young/Marshall is the future in Denver, let them work together and let the chips fall where they may in 2007.

If I have to pick one, I'd have to say Grant because they seem to be willing to roll with him. Then again, a PPR format might benefit Young. Both would give dynasty owners some nice space to breathe.

Who would have thought we would be having a conversation about which undrafted RB will be the better starter for their team. Wow it has been a strange year. I can only suggest in next years rookie draft to grab every RB you can because there are a lot of holes to fill.

A preliminary court date. His lawyers think they can stall this until january.

True. Then again, Mike Bell isn't worth much these days. That alone gives me more confidence in Grant, since Shanahan is quick to give guys a shot...and take it away.

Grant by a mile. Young went down hard on his shoulder at the end of the game and I dont remember him showing up after that. GB has a better passing game which will open up more for grant. Cutler sux.

Uh, Denver only had two more offensive plays after Young's last run.

Interesting. I saw the Mortensen report on ESPN's MNF pregame, too. He appears to believe that because Travis Henry has already strung out the process by several weeks, Monday's hearing will result in an almost instantaneous decision. Or, as Mort put it, "within hours." He also appears to believe that Henry's guilt in the matter is practically a given. Henry's camp, on the other hand, is still claiming innocence. Though their counter-charge, that Henry didn't have his own representative at the test, doesn't exactly suggest he's completely innocent, either. (No link, obviously; it was TV.)Having said all that, I'd take Selvin Young. (Disclaimer: I have Travis and Selvin on one FFL team. And I waived Ryan Grant from another team three weeks ago.) Selvin looked pretty good against a fair-to-decent GB run defense. And the Denver run system, as many have noted, is superior to GB's. As for GB, they'll continue to put up 80 or 90 rush yards a game, with some going to Grant, some to Morency, and heck, Brandon Jackson, might even return from the dead.

If you need someone to step in and produce this week, take Grant. If you can wait and would like a possible steal for a playoff run, take Young. I don't see any other way to look at it, honestly.

People talk about Green Bay as though their offensive line is completely incompetent. That really is not the case. They have a couple of great Ts in Tauscher and Clifton, and their young guys on the interior are improving. They just have had some issues adjusting to the new scheme, and there's been little continuity in terms of who's starting at HB.

I think you'll see over the 2nd half of the season a greatly improved rushing performance and Grant should post very solid numbers.

Looks as if Selvin will be back on the shelf this week with TH coming back...Grants the better play if your needs are immediate.
