Ryan Grant (1 Viewer)

Steel Town

If Grant is on your roster, chances are you lucked out and grabbed him off the waiver wire....and more than likely he bounced an underperforming starter to your bench. At least this is what happened with me. It took me a couple of weeks to plug him into the lineup, but once I did, I didn't turn back. I was expecting a huge game out of him last week against the Rams, but he didn't produce. I know he scored, but only managed 55 rush yards and laid the ball on the carpet. Luckily, I survived and now am playing in my first Super Bowl. Grant travels to Chicago this weekend, and I am getting cold feet on playing him for a couple of reasons.....first, a repeat of last week and I will most likely lose this weekend...second, the Bears defense seemed somewhat energized on Monday Night and for most of the game they were able to shut down ADP. This is a rivalry game, and I expect the Bears to show up and play a tough game in Soldier Field. I don't want to turn this into a wdis thread, but I wanted to get a pulse of the Grant owners playing this weekend, and how confident you are in starting him. If you are starting him, who are your other choices? For me, if I play him it would be over MJD and Stecker.

major difference

Bears had one person to stop A Peterson

This week they can't put 8 in the box and shut down grant to win they will more than likely try and stop Farve from beating them.

Grant will run wild!!!!!

You've got to be kidding, right? There has been no more consistent RB in the NFL in the last several weeks. Chicago was able to play eight men in the box against the Vikings; they can't do that against GB. Outside of LT and Westbrook, there's no RB I would want right now more than Grant.

I was just about to say this - if the Bears play Green Bay the same way they did against Minnesota, then it will be the Favre Highlight Show. The Bears defense has not been stout against the run this year, and having a passing game like the Packers' is going to open up the running game even moreNi

St Louis hasn't allowed a 100 yard rusher all season. Maybe your expectations were a bit too high for him ?

If he didn't put that ball on the carpet he would have went for a 30 yard TD on that play. He still scored and had a decent game.

Chicago is ranked 26th vs the run and still gave up two td's to Peterson. Additionally, I wouldn't base what they did against Minn as an indicator as to what they will do vs. GB. They can put 8-9 in the box to stop Peterson with Jackson at QB and Minn's wr's but if they tried that with Favre he would DESTROY them. Chicago won't be able to play Grant the same way they did Peterson and GB will stretch the defense with 3-4-5 wide and gash them with big runs in the run game.

Start Grant with confidence (even though I hate that new SP term).

I could see wavering on some guys (like MJD), but Grant is about as money as it gets. Even on a "bad" week, he'll get you a TD. I am definitely starting him, and expect him to do well.

I am starting Grant over KJ and Stecker. CHI run defense is nothing special, they were playing with a chip on their shoulder from the previous time that Peterson gashed them for 224 yds, so they were willing to let Tarvaris beat them as long as they didn't get humiliated by the rookie again. I'm expecting 120 total yds with a 65% chance of a TD. Good enough for me.

If anyone remembers the first Bears/GB game...Deshawn Wynn was running all over the Bears. He had something like 40 yards in the first drive alone.

SF was able to stop peterson the week before with the same 8-9 in the box. would you hesitate to start a rb against them?

I'm starting Grant vs Bears over Jamal vs Bengals.

Both good starts and I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

Grant is a great start: healthy, talented, good offense, lots of opportunities

one more beautiful thing that happened to Grant was Dallas losing last weekend. Pack have a lot to play for still.

weather will be in the 20s. Grant is as solid a play this week as you will find.

No way do the Bears sell out on the run against Favre.

I'm leaning towards Grant over M. Lynch at this point.
I've actually got the same dilemma with Portis in the mix. I've got a bad feeling about this game for some reason and my roster is so Packer heavy (Favre, Grant, Jennings, Crosby). I may sit Favre for Warner :lmao:

Absolutely, Grant is the only no-brainer in my RB lineup this week ... Addai may rest a bit, Jacobs' hammy is tweaking, and Kolby Smith is who he is.

Grant > Jacobs/Addai/Smith this week.

The only thing likely to stop Grant is the playcalling in GB. I'm sick of seeing 1st and goal and having Favre line up in the shotgun with 5 WR's.

I'm starting Grant and Lewis and leaving Jackson on the bench vs. Pitt.

Anything could happen but there is no reason to suspect anything different from Ryan Grant than owners have received over the past two months.

Start him with confidence.

Grant Vs. Bears, Jackson Vs. Steelers, or Peterson Vs. Skins?I have a whole herd of good RBs.
I have the exact same situation. Agonizing. Last week Grant was "my" #1 & definite starter. After much consideration, I went with ADP over SJax. They wound up scoring in perfect reverse order of my projections. This week I am going with SJax tonight with fingers crossed. That leaves me leaning toward benching ADP, which I really hate to do, but the last couple weeks he's scared me. The SF game was terrible, and the first half last week not much better. Grant has been money lately. When you can complain about a "lousy" 55yd & TD performance being horribly disappointing, that speaks volumes.

I'm in the exact same boat. I mean, it's a win/win combo... but being the big game for most, you want to squeeze every point out! Good luck. I have no idea what I'm going to decide on. FBG cheetsheets tell me Graham, as they did last week. Except last week I played Grant instead who had 10 points less than Graham. I should no better than overrule Joe's cheatsheets.

I don't want to be remembered as the guy who left ADP on my bench in championship game, do you? I'd go with Grant and ADP.

It's not a championship game (the league is 17 wks head to head, best record wins it), but I do need to win to have a shot. I know exactly what you mean, but ADP has sooooo many arguments working against him, vs so few for my other choices. The fact that my mind is made up for now doesn't mean much anyway. I've flip-flopped several times this week already. The obvious problem is that no matter how much calculating you do on paper, the games almost never play out that way. At least one guy will do great with a "bad" match up & at least one will do bad with a "good" match up. Been that way all year. I used to have Henry in the mix too, making matters even worse. I still think Grant is the no-brainer, even with those 3 above average options. He's playing against the worst statistical defense, has the most lopsided team vs team match up, and he's the definitive go-to RB who is almost a lock to get 20+ carries. SJax would fit that last category, but if the Steelers show up and build an early lead I can see the Rams abandoning the run. Decisions, decisions (about ADJ & SJax...definitely going with Grant).

I am glad that I don't have that problem, but you'd like to be the guy that left Sjax on your bench? I'd rather be the guy that played AD and Sjax and left Grant on the bench. But that's also very tough to swallow.

Grant looks to have the least upside of the three. I have had a debate about J LEwis, Grant and SJax. You know S Jax gets the ball and you know ADP will get the ball...
