Safety Roy Williams going to the Pro Bowl (1 Viewer)

Just heard Roy Williams is going to replace Sean Taylor in the Pro Bowl. Is this based on fan votes or does the league decide? Do people not watch Dallas games? Roy is at best a hard hitting major liability...

Funniest thing is when we first had the thread about voting for the Pro Bowl, my initial response was that no one should vote for Roy... that is too funny

What I don't get was the few number of safeties picked this year. There has to be a better safety out there than Ken Hamlin. In addition, only 2 living guys were selected at all, one at each position. Wheras all the other positions had at least a backup picked, if not two. I'm not stumping for Seahawk players, I'm just glad that our safeties are no longer a liability (and Hamlin was a big one there!). It just boggles my mind how few were picked. Is it like that every year?

This is indeed puzzling. Roy is probably the worst safety in the league in pass defense, plus his big hits are few and far between now. Even Dallas fans want him gone. How is this possible?

Hamlin played as well as he did in 2004, gambling less than he did in 2006 and tackling better. The Pro Bowl only rosters three safeties -- probably because they have enough trouble getting people to make the trip as it is. No question, though, Gibril Wilson or Chris Harris or even Jermaine Phillips are probably better choices than Roy Williams.

Name recognition. I doubt most casual fans could name 3 safeties in the NFC not named Taylor or Williams.

I honestly haven't watched him enough to see but anyone playing alongside Williams is going to look good by comparasin.

Rams OJ Otogwe should be going instead of Williams. OJ was either the INT leader, or top 3. He is a ball hawk and a hard hitter.
