There was talk they were going to trade away Sage if Favre came back. He's been practicing with the second team with Tarvaris getting first team reps.

Pretty clear who "the guy" is.

I rember talk that the Vikes would consider tradind away Sage if they were to get confirmation that Favre was returning. This wuld indicate that TJ was the back-up plan, not Sage.

If the Favre news is true, one of the most interesting Training Camp watches will be seeing if Joe Webb shows enough to be involved with the Offense, and how the Vikes plan on utilizing him in conjunction with Harvin. Should be neat!

Problem is, we've seen what "the guy" is capable of. Having watched both Tarvaris and Sage in relief of Matt Schaub, there's little doubt in my mind Rosenfels would get a look at some point. That said, Sage is plenty capable of making the boneheaded play (maybe moreso than Tarvaris), but he can make any throw.

And that guy is capable of a top 10 finish. But don't let facts get in the way or your incorrect assumptions.

Okay if you don't let your opinion get in the way of discussion/analysisI doubt Tavaris Jackson can come anywhere close to top ten FF QB points this year

if Farve retires, I would suggest they will quickly look up the Eagles & trade for Vick if they can. They may look up Miami for Pennington, but something tells me the fins may wanna hang onto him for one more year... That doesnt mean either of them will start, but it does mean they will have another option.

I cant think of any other QB's who would be available to jump in, but this may be the most logical option as I dont think the other 2 QB's will get it done.

I hear what you're saying in that regard. But my argument rests upon Tarvaris being able to lead the Vikings to real-world wins. What your argument proves in my mind is that almost ANY QB under center for the Vikings will be a borderline QB1 in fantasy. I just think there will come a point when they give Sage a look and what he is capable of in the passing game is night/day to Jackson. Just my opinion. You might be right though. The Vikes are good enough elsewhere to win in SPITE of Jackson, and that fact alone might keep him on the field.

Fair enough. I'm not saying he's top 10 real life. But fantasy wise a lot of folk underestimate how big rushing yards are for a qb.
