Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (1 Viewer)

I'm intrigued by the Note but what is the deal with the stylus? Samsung is touting it as a feature in commercials but it seems like a drawback to me , do you need to use this to get full function from the Note?

I thought I would use it more, but I rarely do.

I use it less than .1% of the time, probably less.

On the rare occasion I do use it it really works great, I just am afraid I'll leave it laying around and lose it, so I keep it in the slot.

I actually use it a bit more than I thought I would.

Mostly just for jotting down notes, though. I like it much better than typing notes for myself. Oh, I also use it for the pen window, which is pretty cool.

You don't need to use it though. It's just a nice added feature without any drawbacks IMO.

I used it some when I first got it, but sort of forgot about it. Yeah, no drawbacks, unless you're not disciplined about putting it back in the slot.

Broke down and bought this over the weekend. Still working out all the nuances (heck, that will take a couple of years). Love the size coming from the Galaxy SIII, as well as the battery life.

I'm about to upgrade. I'm very torn between the s5 active, and the note 4. Currently have a note 3. It boils down mainly to waterproof/dust proof vs. the S pen(which I use often). I also slightly prefer the larger screen.

Anybody want to chime in?

My wife has an S5 & I have a note 4. The waterproofing was basically just a cap on the bottom of the phone that covers the charging hole. It already tore off her phone, because it was a poorly made rubber flap. I'm not sure what the difference is in the S5 active. The Note 4 has a regular micro usb and does the fast charge. The s5 has a special charger for fast charge, but can still use the other chargers for slow charge. The Note 4 also needs the fast charger jt came with, but it's just a micro USB.

I really like my Note 4. The fast charging is great and to date the battery lasts for more than 24 hours with fairly heavy usage. It's about the biggest phone that I can use one-handed. I'm using the pen more often when reading the news and such. I'd highly recommend the Note 4.

Good to know about the waterproofing being not all that great. I think that seals it for the note 4.
