For 2013...my predictions...

Tebow - Backup in New England (3rd team project guy)

Jets - Sign Flacco away from Balt.

finish your circle. what does baltimore do then?

Sanchez - Starter for Jets through 4 weeks then pulled for good

Tebow - Cut or traded for 6th round pick. Ends up backup with chance to compete in JAX or KC

Eventual NYJ starter - Matt Barkley

The situation is completely toxic right now. The locker room is shot and really isn't a talented roster. Getting Revis back and a new HC to clean house is more important than what they do at QB.

To the point of the OP-

Tebow- Competes for job in Jax

Sanchez- Cut and signs in Pitts

McElroy- Fluctuates between 2nd/3rd QB for Jets next yr

Sanchez is guaranteed somewhere around $8MM from the Jets next season. If they release him they are still on the hook for that money and the cap hit is somewhere between $8-17MM (I've heard conflicting figures) - so unfortunately (for Jets fans, fortunately for Miami, NE and Buffalo fans) he may very well be back with the Jets.Assuming he is released though:Sanchez: signed by Kansas City;Tebow: released and signed by (or traded for a 7th round pick) Jacksonville;Matt Hasselbeck: signed by the Jets who draft a second round rookie as well

I think they make an actual move for the first time in the past 10 years (excluding Revis, sorry Favre you don't count) and go after Vick, which is great cause it puts my least favorite player on my least favorite team and I get to watch em still finish with less than 9 wins every year.

I think Sanchez will land in Arizona and I think Tebow will go to whatever market needs a boost (JAX).

:tebow: - Montreal Alouettes starter

McElroy - loses training camp battle to Vick (total Woody Johnson move) and is #2 for Jets

The way I understand it, and please tell me if this is incorrect -

All Sanchez is really "guaranteed" next year is $8.25M, but the cap hit is much higher no matter if he's on the team or not because of how the signing bonus is handled (either a prorated amount if he's on the team, or the remaining amount if he's not).

So, the cap hit is nearly the same with him on the team or not....they could trade him to another team for a late pick and they would still have to pay the $8.25M.

So if they aren't going to start him, and the Jets are out the 2013 salary and some cap hit no matter what they do.....if they aren't planning to start him, why even roster him and deal with the headache? Same with Tebow.

Neither will be the starting QB week 1. So it's either Greg or a rookie.

Sanchez - agrees to restructure his contract, then gets traded to San Francisco

Tebow - cut from team, latches on with the Redskins

Jets - sign Matt Flynn* and draft a QB in the 1st round

* I meant Matt Moore, but close enough. It's the same guy.

Is that possible? Can't he get franchised by Baltimore?

...or a trade/FA veteran. I see your logic, but if they are going to pay him anyway and have the cap hit anyway, maybe it is best to keep him around for the year as insurance. Trust me, NO ONE will be clamoring for him regardless of how bad the starting qb is, and he will be making 500k/game just for hanging out (and get to stay in NYC for an additional year). It really is a win-win in the grand scheme of things...Here are my projections:McElroy - Backup on the team, competing with draft pick for 3rd spotSanchez - Backup on the teamTebow - traded or cut outright (likely to Jax)Kyle Orton - traded from Dallas

Sanchez loses a preseason battle with Alex Smith. Mcelroy is the 3. Tebow is released. 2014 is the year they draft Teddy Bridgewater or other stud.

They bring in some serious QB coaching. They bring in Norv Turner or Cam Cameron. Sanchez is still the starter as they are pot committed to him for 2013. McElroy is the back up. Tebow is released.

Or

They release Sanchez and sign Vick.

If :tebow: equals Tebow, there is not a chance that he is the starter in Montreal. This guy is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Calvillo. Cavillo signed a 2 year contract on December 13, 2012.
Montreal owns his rights. The other guy is 40 years old. I would think :tebow: is their QB of the future though I suppose they could trade him to, I dunno Winnipeg.

If this is like your prediction that Matt Flynn would start and Russell Wilson is a scrub.....it won't go well for you.

You can take this to the bank. LT said as much on the Opening Drive this AM. The Josh McDaniel connection, Belicheck spent a lot of time with Tebow in Florida. It all adds up. Not sure what happens with the rest of the team but you can be certain Woody Johnson will continue to keep the circus in town and the Jets in the news.

Tebow isn't going to New England unless he converts to tight end.

Not every thread is about you, or the ####ing Seahawks.

McElroy starter

Scrub is a backup

Rookie is #3qb

Tebow is traded to Green Bay for a 7th rd pick

Sanchez is cut and signs with Jacksonville

Tanny is Fired

Sporano is fired

Norv is Hired as OC

What I hope:

Ryan, all the coaches and FO get fired.

Sanchez gets traded.

Jets sell the farm to the Redskins for Cousins. Include Revis if need be, could be a straight up deal.

Drfat some O linemen, not projects like Ducasse.

Sign an RB. Maybe S Jackson until they can draft one.

What I predict:

No change other than Tebow leaving. Another miserable year. Maybe a new OC yet again, gotta have a scapegoat. What fool would even consider that job?

One extra prediction, being that they are the Jets, they will certainly obtain Vick as their new starter for next year.

Just a reminder that A.) Rex Ryan didn't come here to kiss Bill Belichick's rings and B.) Patriots fans everywhere are laughing at the current state of the Jets. Y'all are losers and we take joy in your misfortune.

If Tebow wants to continue to fight for a QB job he would not sign with New England.

Wow. You must be really high on Cousins to make that trade.

The Jets will replace one mediocre USC QB with another. Bring on Matt Barkley & let the 16/30 138 yds 1td/2int stat lines fly for another 3-4 years.

I really wish they would just play Tebow and make him actually throw the ball so everyone can actually realize how ####ty he is and all this nonsense can be over with.

New York Jets?

http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/2107/michael-vick

Jets head coach Rex Ryan reportedly "loves" Michael Vick and would be open to having him in New York.

"Bring it on," one Jets source said about signing Vick if he becomes available. "He was hit too many times (behind a subpar offensive line) the last two years." As we all know, Vick is expected to be released by the Eagles after the season, and reports are that he would be open to going to the Jets as long as Mark Sanchez was out of the picture. Ryan certainly seems to be on more stable ground in New York than Sanchez, and bringing Vick in could help buy Ryan another year or so. Dec 19 - 9:36 PM

One NFL game by Cousins convinced you he's worth doing that? IMO that would be a typical Jets over-reaction type move. I'd rather them draft a QB and sign some stop gap veteran.

At this point I think the Jets are more likely to just absorb the huge cap hit and move on.

So long Tebow...so long Sanchez...maybe bring in Vick on a 1 year prove it deal and go from there. The situation is a total mess.

Free agent quarterbacks with higher career passer ratings than Mark Sanchez:Tyler Thigpen, Vince Young, David Carr, Tarvaris Jackson, Byron Leftwich, Matt Moore, Sage Rosenfels, Seneca Wallace, Jason Campbell, David Garrard

(I'm not saying that these guys are great players. I'm just pointing out that they've played better than Sanchez for their careers.)

Matt Hasselbeck, Alex Smith, Tavaris Jackson, Matt Moore and maybe even David Garrard if he's healthy. I honestly think with a game manager type QB this team could have made the playoffs (and got spanked once they were there). In his last 7 games, Sanchez has throw 4 TDs while throwing 10 interceptions and fumbling the ball away 5 times - no team can win with that happening. The defense has played well even without Revis. Cromartie and the veteran safeties have been excellant, the D-line is young athletic and coming together. The o-line is declining but, at least average and the running game is solid (but unspectacular). The WRs are banged up and not so great but solid QB play makes WRs better.

I don't think any of those QBs are great options, just a mentor/stop gap hoping they draft the right guy.

ETA: I don't think trading Revis for Kirk Cousins would be a great idea - which was really more of my point.

I feel Jets fans are being way to critical of their beloved team. I think they all deserve one more chance to right the ship.

Cause the :tfp: is quite amusing.

Has Rex guaranteed a Super Bowl for next season yet?

PLAY LIKE A JET TODAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could be worse. When was the last time the Dolphins were relevant? When Dan Marino was buying isotoner gloves for his o-linemen?

I love the "We were relevant more recently than you were" schtick.

Source: Jets will try to trade Tim Tebow following season

Tim Tebow will request a trade at the end of the season, assuming Greg McElroy starts both remaining games, but he isn’t the only one looking to get out of this relationship. The Jets will look to move Tebow anyway at the end of the season, according to a source. This makes Tebow’s departure from the Jets a near-certainty, and the two sides will have a mutual parting of some kind following the season.
More importantly.
The only way December can get worse for Tim Tebow is if it turns out the Mayans were right. In the same week the New York Jets backup was leapfrogged for a starting role by Greg McElroy, US Weekly has learned that Tebow has also broken up with his girlfriend of two months, actress Camilla Belle.

Feel free to borrow it sometime. ;)

Damn shame what the Jets are doing to Tebow. Guy is a winner. Jets make the playoffs if he was QB. Hope Jags sign him and start him next year.

Sanchez is cut and signs a cheap contract with Cincinnati strictly as Dalton's backup. The Sanchez situation reminds me of David Carr in Houston. No team was willing to trade for Carr with his expensive contract. Houston was forced to cut him and he eventually signed with Carolina to back up Jake Delhomme.

Tebow ends up out of football except for appearances on NFL network, ESPN etc.

Jets drafted Tyler Bray. McElroy loses the training camp battle and becomes Bray's backup.

No thanks, I'd rather we keep Gradkowski.-QG

You are probably right but Gradkowski will be a free agent soon.

I tend to think Gradkowski sticks around. Regardless, like the Jets I think we are done with USC QBs for a while :)
