Ever since i gave up on Obama (June, 2009) - pretty much my entire tenure as a FFAper - and, therefore, the effect a well-intentioned President can have on the nation's well-being and prospects, i've been warning others that one day soon we'd see Sarah Palin in a MadMax jeep, trolling the countryside behind a machine gun, the yabbos & yahoos in charge of America's streets. I was almost unanimously howled down. I'm guessing that may have changed, but i want to see.
ETA: The word "impunity" is key here. It would mean that, at the very least, law enforcement/military would have at least partially given up on the idea of stopping such activity. I'm almost sure that would only be the result of a Crash/major depression of some kind, but at the very least a fiscal incapacity to control/compete with folks openly running their turf and possibly overrunning others'.
