**Saturday Twilight on NFLN - Broncos at Bengals**(-3.5, 49.5) 4:30 (1 Viewer)

What’s the Bengals playoff scenario now?
They can win next week and they’re in.

Broncos lose next week, Cinci is in.

Indy loses 1 game, Cinci is in.

Dolphins lose 1 game, Cinci is in.

I’m not sure if both of those last things has to happen or not.
Cincy needs to win, PLUS Denver loss to KC PLUS Indy and Miami each lose at least once
Really?

I thought if they won today, they could win out.

Thanks for the clarification

They need to tie Denver and only Denver at 9-8

:hifive:

Honestly hope they can do it. Post season contests are way more fun with Bengals offensive players.

Cincinnati is still one game behind Denver so Cincinnati has to win and Denver has to lose.since Denver plays the chiefs and the chiefs likely to be sitting a number of key players it is potentially a lot easier than expected.

But INDY & MIA also need to each lose 1 game, right?

Yes sorry. Both need to lose one game this week or next in addition to the bengals winning and broncos losing next week.

And MIA without Tua, and Colts without ARich.

What isn't really being talked about is Denver's stupidity of calling those 2 timeouts in OT when Cincy was about to try the FG.

If they don't call those timeouts the clock runs down to the 2 min warning then Cincy missed the FG then Denver runs out the clock or at least tries to.

THEY GET INTO THE PLAYOFFS WITH A TIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Denver should been playing for the tie at that point. By calling those 2 times it left time on the clock for Cincy to do what they did at the end.
I said it right when they did it. Horrible coaching. Payton should have none before the game that a tie gets them in.

I don’t bet on sports, but if I did I’m pretty sure I’d bet on the Flacco-led Colts to beat the Giants.

The Giants are a disaster. Don’t get me wrong. I want the Giants to keep it close so that they feed Tracy, but I don’t see it.

Yeah, I mean both the dolphins & colts could win this week.

But then again, maybe they won’t. Bengals will need to win and hope for the best.

Yep. Bengals have to win and errrrybody has to lose. Miami, Indy, and Denver.

That’s a tall order, but they’re still alive. I think if they didn’t have Zac Taylor as coach that they would have made the playoffs.

Maybe a little weather affects this game?
Bo has played well
But I think he'll learn a thing or two watching Joe
Cinny has a teeny weeny chance to make the playoffs
So I think they show up big time in a national game
One thing for sure
The team with a B in their name will win
So...

Bengals- 30
Broncos- 20
That close
Fun game to watch

If I’m KC, I make sure I lose to Denver and keep Cincy out of the playoffs

They’d much rather face the winner of Houston-Pittsburgh in the divisional round than take a chance on #7 seed Cincy knocking off Buffalo in the Wild Card then coming into Arrowhead playing with house money on a hot streak

That bomb by Nix was a 67-yard throw, longest in the NFL this season

Didn’t think much of him at first but my opinion of that guy keeps on going up, impressive rookie season. Even that INT was because his hand got hit as he was throwing

Man that was trash by Denver playing for the tie and giving the Bengals chance after chance to win. What did they think would happen?

Not sure they were even playing for the tie. Taking the 2 timeouts on defense because...why? And then they are throwing on that last drive they had and gave us the ball back with like 2:25. Insanity.

If they pocket those timeouts and everything goes the same (in the multiverse and in poker this does not occur but that is another story) you have situation where the Bengals field goal miss is later and they have little if any time left for that last drive.

Broncos were playing for the win it seems - honorable but extremely foolish.

Cowards path if they do. Karma would knock em out in that first home game.

Analyst was a total dope there. Bengals were forced to go for the TD because the Broncos were getting the ball no matter what.

If we do his incorrect kneel down idea then it is 3rd down with 1:29 left.

Run whole clock and get 4th down with 50 seconds left.

Denver gets the ball with 40 or so seconds down 3. No thanks idiot commentator.

-QG
If he did slide down without getting hurt Denver would have only had about 10 to 15 seconds left.

There was 1:39 on the clock and Denver only had 1 timeout left. The clock would ran down to 1 min they snap it kneel it down and then with 20 seconds left they call timeout.

They kick the FG and 15 seconds would been left.

Since Brown got hurt they then had to try to get the TD knowing there would be like 55 seconds left.

Exactly.
NFL Network needs to put you or me in the analyst booth next season

How about The Bengals somehow grab the last playoff spot in The AFC
And we get a first round matchup of The Bengals at Buffalo
Over/Under might hit 80

The most Denver thing to do would be to lose against the Bengals then lose to KC’s backups.

3 Super Bowl wins in the last, what, 28 years would make that a tough pitch. Let's start by seeing how many teams have won 3 in less than 30 years, shall we?
Patriots, Niners, Cowboys, Giants, Steelers, Chiefs, Redskins, plus the Packers have 4, with 3 in a 30 year span.
Raiders have been so bad for so long that people forget how great they were in the 70s/80s. They won 3 Super Bowls between ‘77 and ‘84.

History is all Raiders fans have left so at least give us that.

Good stuff, thanks, so Denver's in the top 25%.

Now do the LAST 30 years.
Look, I’m not trying to bag on Denver, but you’re cherry picking the data.

You know the NFL is going to do all they can to milk the drama next week with the start times of the games. If I am KC, I start Brittany Mahomes at QB, the training staff and water boys at the other positions. I punt on 1st down. I do everything I can to make sure a hot Cincy team doesn't get in.

That being said, I am sad Denver lost. However, when your 2nd CB is getting thrown at 90% of the time because teams won't dare go to the other side, that makes it difficult. Throw in the fact your coach calling time outs to extend a game you want the clock to move in, makes it incredibly hard.

I am sorry, but why should the Chiefs worry about the Bengals making the playoffs? An 8-8 team with a trash defense is supposed to scare the 2-time defending champs who are 15-1? Er, no.

Yes. And that just highlights how fortunate things have gone for the Chiefs and unfortunate for the Bengals. Hypothetically, Bengals-Chiefs on a neutral field, I wonder what the moneyline would be.

Huh? 2?

77 over the Vikes
81 over the Eagles
84 over the Redskins

unless I’m missing your point.

Please don’t EVER take away one of those 3 super bowls. It’s all us raider fans have left 40 freakin years later. ;)
