Seahawks WR Ben Obomanu (1 Viewer)

I understood it to be between fingers - either ring finger and middle or ring finger and little finger.
Not sure where I got wrist from, seemed like I remembered reading that around when it happened. It makes more sense that it's a problem if it's between the fingers. I'm imagining tearing the "web" between my fingers - yowch! Seems like that would make it pretty hard to catch. What's so weird about Obomanu's injury is that he didn't practice. Carroll said today he was running around all week, so he'll probably play, but it ultimately will probably come down to a gametime decision of whether or not he can catch the ball. If he's active, it still seems to me like he should be able to produce, especially if M. Williams is absent.
i'm gonna guess he'll know in warmups so may be a late call. got him in 4 leagues (but only 3 where he might play and 1 where i really want to play him)Both BMW/Obomanu will be GTD's per seahawks twitter

Pete Carroll is saying that he believes Obomanu will play. Is anyone willing to play him this week, knowing that one band hit on his hand could take him out of the game?

It seems really risky for the first week of the playoffs (for most people).

I have Hines Ward and Mike Thomas as other options...but I'm strongly considering putting him out there.

Does this change your outlook any?
Hi Hipple,The cushion should help prevent a direct blow from a football opening the wound, but I'd still be worried about spreading the fingers to make a catch, putting his hand down to break his fall and tackling. If he plays, he's a risky WR3 at best.Jene
FWIW Though this pains me as a Obomanu owner, but I'm really leaning against starting him without some very positive news...:yucky:ETA big kudos as usual to the FBG team in general, but big props to Jene Bramel. Not only for writing one of the best pieces on the site IMHO, but for stuff like this. How awesome is that! :headbang:

I want to play him as well as I think they will HAVE to throw the football for most of the day. Big problem is, he is my last and only option at 4:00 with BMW. If i pass up Thomas to play him and then they call him out at 4:00, I'm taking a goose egg in the playoffs.

Any chance there will be more concrete news on Obo or Williams BEFORE the 1:00pm games kickoff?

My plan is to grab Butler if BO can't GO. Anything is better than what I was getting as this roster spot once belonged to Randy Moss.
