Seattle dome stadium question (1 Viewer)

Seattle's roof is retractable, correct? Do they have to say if it will be open for the game ahead of time? It is supposed to rain there this weekend and I would think they would want it shut vs the Bears if they are going to throw.

It seems as if it is always open too.

Seattle does not have a roof.

First, I don't believe Qwest field has a retractable roof. You may be thinking of their baseball stadium.Second, in Houston where we do have a retractable roof, we never knew if the roof was going to be open or not... until the team created a policy in response to fan reaction to the conditions under which the roof was open. Now we tend to know in advance... but unless the NFL added a rule about it in the last 2 years, they never had to announce it before.

Monday Night Football pouring rain vs San Fran = no retractable roof

Although they may have left the roof open to slow down the 49er offense

Safeco Field, right next door to Qwest has a retractable roof. Qwest roof is open over the field, and both endzone seating areas.

70% of the fans are under cover.

As for how it affects the passing game, its minimal. Hasslebeck is used to the rain. He has wet his hand before each and every plan since high school with a wet towel that hangs from his waist.
