Seattle WRs now (1 Viewer)

Who might get more looks now, Carlson, Mike Williams, Golden Tate?

I never see the Seahawks plays, so any info on who might be worth picking up is appreciated.

I failed to see any value from Branch's trade to Seattle WRs. He had all of 18 targets and 13 catches in 4 games. Divide them up, that's about 1 more target for 4 guys each each week.

some one or two WRs playing time will increase. If they are more talented than Branch, they could become worth a roster spot.

i don't see it, unless you are rostering 60 players plus.
Bump Carlson and Lynch/Forsett.

Paving the way for Vincent Jackson?

I've said all along that Seattle made the most sense to me. The Seahawks just got a 4th rounder back from the Lynch trade and they seem to be trying to make a push to win the division this year and he could be their lead receiver for the next few years.

If they were willing to pull the trigger on Lynch maybe they will on Jackson too. It seems both the Chargers and Jackson are in a weaker position because of Floyd's emergence so maybe both of their asking prices will come down.

I would think the only way the Seahawks would do it is if they locked him up longterm. The Seahawks got the Lynch deal done quietly with little advance rumor being spread. Maybe they are negotiating with Jackson right now.

The V Jackson saga makes me laugh. This guy is not playing this season. He gambled. SD did not cave. Everyone holding on to Jackson waiting for him to play this season is wasting a roster spot.

Fantasy guys are talking up Golden Tate as the big-play threat. Is Butler the WR1 and Tate the WR2 or does their offense work differently?

Been keeping up w/ the Seattle papers and the beat writers say Tate looks electric in practice and they will probably want to feed him the ball more. I think he could be a much much much poorer man's Percy Harvin.

I agree with Carlson, he was the number 1 targeted player with Branch, I doubt his targets go down. Not many targets for anyone. I am in a wait and see mode the the WRs.

While this may be no laughing matter if you are the owner of VJax, I think this guy may be right. The issue is not whether Jackson can be signed. There were teams where he was able to come to an agreement, and the chargers Nixed the trade. I belive this has become a personal matter between he and the Arrogant AJ Smith. Mr. Smith does not like when anyone stands up to him and he will make an example out of Vince Jackson at any cost. where he is wrong is the fact that he is letting his personal feelings get ahead of team goals. He could get a reasonably decent draft pick if he deals now, but as the season progresses, the value of this asset will decline and if he waits until year end, he gets nothing and VJ walks.there appears to be no logic or reason to his actions. Based on this, I do believe this is now personal, and will drag out for the rest of the year. Shame on you AJ Smith for putting your ego ahead of the team.

The Seahawks have named Deon Butler their starting flanker following the trade of Deion Branch.

Coach Pete Carroll anticipates using a heavy rotation, but Butler will be the starter in all two-receiver sets, and could move to the slot in Seattle's "three wides" look. He's a better bet for snaps than Golden Tate with this news, though Tate's superior big-play ability could still give him the edge in terms of yardage over the course of the season. With middling quarterback play and Brandon Stokley's role also increasing, we wouldn't bet on much fantasy reliability from Seattle's receiver corps. Big Mike Williams included. "Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said he believes WR Mike X. Williams can be the No. 1 receiver for the Seahawks this season and wants Williams to show that he can fill that job, reports Eric Williams, of The Tacoma News Tribune. 'I think there is an expectation of that,' Carroll said. 'I think I've seen him that way. He was drafted to be that way. And now that we've seen him after really a long period of time of really being consistent, we should expect Mike to make things happen and control aspects of the game. He's a big dude catching the football. So we'll find out. We have to keep going to him to make sure that happens.'
