Seinfeld Trivia (1 Viewer)

My son and I have been watching Seinfeld and I thought it might be fun to come up with some trivia questions to see which FBGs know their stuff. I'll post 2-3 questions for each of the episodes which will be chosen randomly at the time. Here is the first set of questions pulled from two episodes. I'll post the answers the following day.

1. What was the only thing salvaged from the fire that consumed Susan's father's cabin?

2. Jerry disgusts Elaine's assistant with his dirty talk in bed. What did he say?

3. Why does crazy Joe Davola want to "put the kibosh" on Jerry?

4. What does Elaine use to get out of crazy Joe Davola's apartment?

1. What was the only thing salvaged from the fire that consumed Susan's father's cabin? black box with John Cheever's love letters.

2. Jerry disgusts Elaine's assistant with his dirty talk in bed. What did he say? "like the panties your mother laid out for you?"

3. Why does crazy Joe Davola want to "put the kibosh" on Jerry? thought he killed one of Joe's screenplays for NBC

4. What does Elaine use to get out of crazy Joe Davola's apartment? Cherry Binaca

done.

I'm a huge Seinfeld fan but I'm notorious for not noticing details like this.  I'll follow along but doubt I will be very good at it.

My wife and I are currently re-watching this (again).  I have to say that while I still like Seinfeld, Curb is so much better that it makes me wistful for what Seinfeld might have been if it hadn't been stuck on network television.

Anyway, I knew the answer to #2, and that got me to thinking about how Curb would have played that same premise, and it made me sad that we didn't get that episode.

are we guessing? if so:

1. John Cheever's love letters to Susan's father

2. "Are those the panties your mother laid out for you?"

3. something about a party invite, i think

4. Binaca

if not, say so (dont quote me) and i'll erase

Go ahead with your answers although the way otb did it above is preferable.  3-4 correct, btw.

Based on listening to Seinfeld talk (at least tangentially) about this, I don't know how much different Jerry would have made it.  I think he can appreciate blue comedy, but I think he feels it's a crutch.  I'm sure he would have pushed the envelope more but not sure he would go with some of the same stories as Larry David - or at least as open and "adult".

Admittedly, I haven't watched all seasons of Curb, but I kind of agree with Jerry.  I mean, I curse like a sailor and enjoy really crass humor but I still put Seinfeld as my #1 comedy.  To make me laugh like that and not require working blue is just fantastic.

agree. Seinfeld is a product of Larry David's sense of what's funny with Jerry's sense of what works. greater editorial freedom would not have changed it cuz Seinfeld's comic algorithms work the product to reach the maximum number of people anyway. much of his genius is that such broadening of appeal does not dilute the content, but rather tightens it. finding ways to get shows on masturbation, outing, etc onto NBC was a big part of the shaping of the jokes and made it actually  better than David's rather messy way of legitimizing his world, even tho some folks may laugh more at the latter

Without looking it up, after the main four actors (Jerry, George, Kramer, and Elaine)... who appears in the next most number of episodes? Only a die-hard fan would probably know this without online help.

I'll go with the too obvious, Newman?

One of the servers at Monk's?

Ruthie Cohen, she of the $20 bill episode with George, counter lady at Monk's.

I love Seinfeld but am terrible at trivia related to it.

But this reminds me of a similar Star Wars (episodes 4-6) question.....

What book that Jerry checked out of the library in high school never got returned ?

Bonus- what did the gym teacher call George ?

Not sure the best way to run this as answering the questions that other's have already answered just seems weird.  There is a Seinfeld DVD trivia game that one of my co-workers got at a garage sale.  He brought in the questions and every day we had have a competition for one of the cards of questions.  It was a nice break in the day.

I think they should be answered......it just makes it tough to repeat the answers even when you knew them right away.  I guess it's like buzzing in.   hahaha

i don't think there are prizes being awarded, nor pounds of flesh being extracted if you don't buzz in first.

it's just minutiae.

This applies to me as well. For Seinfeld. For all other television shows. For movies. Basically for almost everything.

People could put their answers inside spoiler blocks. Not perfect but might work well enough for this purpose.
